We had a lovely stay with our small dog and 12 week old baby, the place had everything we needed and Madeleine was very accomodating when we were a little late leaving in the morning! Beautifully kept and easy to find location.

It’s such a unique stay with the stunning view out over the bush and waterfall. The decor is prefect. There is everything you need. And you are giving a lot of privacy. I stayed with my Mum, but it would be perfect for a romantic getaway. The way the whole room opens up and you can hear the rushing of the water is so special.

Our stay was a real treat but worth every penny and more. We loved being surrounded by the beautiful scenery, having our gorgeous rooms and no tv! What an oasis. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was so clear that ingredients were freshly sourced and expertly cooked. I mean the only flaw is that you wish you could stay forever!

What we liked most is were we stayed.

What we liked most is were we stayed. Woodhouse Mountain Lodge is a diamond in the rough. Staff are 10/10 Accomodation rates super high too. . What we didn't like: EVERYTHING over priced, and considering the motorway goes straight past Warkworth, LOWER your prices to attract tourism. (YOU ARE NOT TAUPO,.. which is notably cheaper, and is a tourist destination, not a 'blink and you'll miss it' town.

Originally not knowing what to expect, curiosity caused us to stop off for a coffee break, whilst travelling up to Cape Reinga. We were so impressed that we booked a night's stay on our return journey, Such is he layout of this unique township, bordering the south bank of the Mahurangi River. With buildings that date back to the late 1800's through to modern, It is very easy to walk around, there are many cafe's and restaurants scattered amongst a broad range of local businesses including craft, clothing, and a number of Boutiques selling many varied products. If you are looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and just relax in an unique Village/Township. We can easily recommend Warkworth NZ,

I managed to get my hair cut in Warkworth and had an enjoyable time chatting in the hairdressers to locals and got agood cut at Short and Sweet. The lady at the I Sight information centre was excellent, there are plenty of good places to eat, Bridgehouse, Aldos and Pete and Marys for snacks and breakfast. There are lovely beaches at Omoha, 20 minutes drive, Snells beach and an interesting village Matakani nearby. Further afield are interesting things to do and there is an interesting historic town walk and Kauri forest walk. An easy going small town with good shoos, especially the wholefood shop. You van get homeopathic remedies at one place and there is a good launderette.

We were in Warkworth for "Warkworth Walks" a three day weekend of walking around Warkworth and outer regions. A large Annual event unfortunately it is not advertised to the local businesses and many of the shops were closed. This event has been occuring in November for the last 14years and some of the locals are still unaware of it.

Pleasantly surprised by the number of shops, cafe and restaurants including a countdown nearby. Would definitely visit again rather than passing through. The chocolate brown cafe was amazing for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The Warkworth hotel was nice for a drink or meal and the many other restaurants nearby which was nice. Can easily venture up to Matakana or Omaha by driving in around 10 mins which is handy too. Highly recommended !

Very conveniently positioned on the main road not far from the shops. The staff were very friendly and helpful..The facilities were simple but just what we needed. Very clean and comfortable. A highlight was the meal served in the hotel dining room - tasty food with excellent, cheerful and friendly service. We were lucky to find this accommodation at the last minute after travel plans were stymied by most inclement weather. Grateful for the warm welcome, the ground floor room and quick access to the township. Thank you for having us!

Puhinui House is new, comfortable and was sparkling clean ! Our group of 3 couples had a very relaxing, comfortable stay. It was an easy short drive to Warkworth for dinner. Our host was very good on communications and we appreciated the finishing touches of flowers and the provision of milk, tea and coffee. The house is 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, but please note that one of the bathrooms is an ensuite. We can highly recommend Puhinui House.
