I always visit Te Papa, but the waterfront walks are fantastic too. I visited Parliament (free but book) and enjoyed the other old buildings nearby. Public art is fun and sometimes very thought provoking. The cable car has brilliant view ! In the past I have visited Zealandia ( a favourite ) and Weta workshop (do the tour !!) I found a small independent movie theatre and watched a new NZ movie, and by chance saw a musical ! If I'd been there longer I would've seen a play or two. I was with friends a previous trip and enjoyed a couple of craft breweries and some gorgeous cute restaurants. Bring a good jacket and get out there !

Plenty of accommodation choices and very competitive prices.

Plenty of accommodation choices and very competitive prices. Plenty of good restaurants. And a very compact city. Not far to anywhere. Good business service. One thing i found very annoying was a lack of street name signs. How hard is that?

Would have loved to stay longer if I more budget. Finally seen the beehive which was amazing, Te Papa worth going to fantastic. Great shops busy footpath. Lovely looking at the boats walking around the city and great restaurants. Would have loved to stay a little longer next time and see a lot more but will use a car. Train from Wellington to Hamilton was great and relaxing. Worth the money. Bus service and taxis great service. Friendly people.

As we were only here for the night to go to a concert, one night was enough for us to stay. We always enjoy visiting Wellington, find it easy to get around, can find places of interest, and still not too expensive for retired people on pensions.

Being brought up in Wellington, it is a fantastic place to visit. People are awesome, friendly, honest and will go out of their way showing kindnest. The Uber driver drove me straight to a coffee shop because I was fanging for one! Went above and beyond. Best coffee in the world, made slowly, properly and with love. NZ invented the flat white. Restaurants are awesome, we eat from a different country/culture every night. Hot Like A Mexican is our favourite. Recommend Willis Lane and Cuba St. Loved the boutique bars with Kiwi IPA on offer. Enjoyed The Malthouse, Garage Project and Parrotdog. Always unique healthy kiwi gourmet food on offer.Mt Victoria is a must for the views of the city, especially at night. Oriental Bay is beautiful for a walk and to stop for a coffee or meal.

Great place, must go to Cuba Street, plenty of restaurants. A visit to the museum and market's and take bus 83 to Days Bay you will enjoy the trip. You travel through Lower Hutt plenty to see, next time I must get off there. I walked all around Wellington but also used the busses when I got tired. I was very lucky with the weather and love spending time by the harbor.

It would be good if you offered a cheaper rate for people who are only using the hotel as a bed for 5 hrs. My family flew into Wellington at 11.50 pm and then left at check out time of 10 am. A reduced rate considering you are an airport hotel would have been better. We paid full price for 6 hrs sleep and didn't use any other hotel facilities.
