The location is truly magical — a beautiful place to rest and relax under the trees. Host Katy is incredibly accommodating, and everything was spotless and well cared for. The room had all the facilities we needed, the beds were wonderfully comfortable, and the surroundings are peaceful and quiet. The yoga shala feels like a little spaceship, perfect for winding down and fully relaxing.

Lisa was very warm and easy to communicate with.

Lisa was very warm and easy to communicate with. Perfect for a couple or a family. Very easy to find the place. We were there at a very busy time for a tournament in Waipapa, 30mins away, but the drive and scenery are beautiful.

We walked the Wairakau Stream Track, which was great, but we didn't leave enough time to make it up the Duke's Nose, though from other peoples' pictures it would certainly have been well worth it. We enjoyed the Mahinepua Peninsula walk, and we did climb to the top of St Paul's Rock, which gave us excellent views all round. We also went to the Puketi forest and saw some awe-inspiring huge kauri trees.

The walk up to St Pauls rock gave up panoramic views and was well worth the effort to get up. The Fishing Club Cafe and bar was a lively spot full of friendly locals and you only have to sign in to gain entry.

Whangaroa is a beautiful little area & has much to offer in...

Whangaroa is a beautiful little area & has much to offer in the way of fishing outings or for just as a restful retreat. The Harbour is beneath the 'volcanic plug'(as Wikipedia calls it).. of St Paul's, which many have walked to the top of. The Swordfish club has a great restaurant & 'watering hole' of course. Also..if any have been born in Kaeo area the little hall next to the Old Marlin hotel holds a get together every 1st Friday of every 2nd month..the next being 9th Feb 2024(this one being the 2nd week because of long weekend prior-Waitangi one).

It is a small harbour village but tranquil and beautiful...

It is a small harbour village but tranquil and beautiful views all around. It merely host boats a safe inlet. There is a harbour restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and scrumpous food. If you love nature then Whangaroa is for you. The nearest shops is 7km away in Kaeo and 12km away in Kerikeri. Perfect accommodation all around.

Whangaroa is a quaint spot that has superb ocean views with the Marina directly opposite the Marlin Hotel. The Whangaroa Gamefishing & Sports Club has an excellent restaurant with great meals. Locals are friendly and accommodating for our family group needs. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Whangaroa and The Marlin Hotel for your stay up in the Far North.
