The location was fantastic! Steps away from the Kuelap and teleférico ticket office. Kevin was a phenomenal host. He received us with a great smile, showed us the facilities, helped us get the Kuelap tickets online. He has a library of books about the area which were very helpful. When Kevin was not around, neighbor Juan Jose and Vivian were very helpful. Really, the entire town is one where eceryone seems to be healping each other and helping their tourists. It is a lovely community! The town was beautiful, quiet and with a stunning scenary. The facilities was spotless clean!

I stayed at Ekokuelap Lodge for 2 nights during my visit to Kuélap. I was pleased to know that the hosts spoke my language (French). The communication with Maud was prompt and I was provided with precious travel information before arriving and upon leaving. Upon my arrival, Maud offered to upgrade me to a more expensive room which was really appreciated as I had a long day travelling. I enjoyed the uniqueness (traditional roundhouse style) and the coziness of the room (fluffy bed cover and pillows) as well as the private bathroom. I also enjoyed Maud’s hospitality which made me feel like I was at home. Finally as I have dietary restrictions, I appreciated Maud’s flexibility while preparing my breakfast and also for accepting to let me do some food prep in her kitchen. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and homey stay away from home, while visiting this beautiful region of Peru!

This hotel is ideally placed, only a 5 minute walk to the center. There's a bodega across the street with everything you need. The owner, and his wife and family were all very welcoming and kind. They help with whatever you need. The restaurant downstairs is top notch as well.

Ok wow, this place is awesome. If you want a remote relaxing place to stay this is it. Lots of cool history in and around the building. Great hiking and exploring nearby. The staff (and owner) were very attentive.

La Casona Monsante is a renovated former mansion type home in the colonial Spanish tradition. In the dining rooms the walls retains the original woodwork adorned by beautiful paintings. We requested a quiet room in the back. Our room overlooked gardens that were lit at night, and it was very quiet. It's a lovely facility. It is family run and the family are gracious and attentive. It is well located two blocks from the Plaza del Armes near the Cathedral on a street designated for walking without vehicles allowed. Our room was quite spacious with cathedral ceilings and a fully renovated bathroom with hot comfortable water for shower or bath. The breakfast option included American style with eggs, cheese, toast, rolls, coffee and a variety of fresh juices or Peruvian style with a delicious grain rice type dish with pork which was quite flavorful. We were very pleased with this accommodation.
