Monte Amazonico Lodge

Monte Amazonico Lodge

San Francisco (Near Puerto Pardo)

Located in the heart of the Amazonas jungle, Monte Amazonico Lodge offers rural accommodations in Puerto Maldonado. A jungle tour and all meals are provided. The Monkey Island is 1640 feet away. I had the best time traveling to the Amazon and would 10/10 recommend Monte Amazonica to friends! Great location far enough away from town with beautiful property, gardens and relaxing areas. I especially loved the hammocks and pool. Food was yummy and filling. Plus there is a bar :) Cabins were very clean and comfortable. Bring an extra battery pack to charge electronics as electricity is only available for 4 hours. Also bring a refillable water bottle and plenty of warm weather, light weight clothes. I was a solo traveler on this journey and made tons of friends in my group. And huge bonus that our tour guide Daniel is the coolest! He is very knowledgeable and shared great stories. If you want an opportunity to live in the jungle for a few days, see lots of animals and unwind and disconnect this is your place. I’ll definitely be back to visit!! Thanks for an incredible trip!

Casa Sandoval

Casa Sandoval

Sandoval (Near Puerto Pardo)

Offering a garden, Casa Sandoval is set in Sandoval, inside of the Tambopara National Reserve. To visit the Amazon rainforest is a once in a lifetime experience and Casa Sandoval makes it possible for those who cannot afford the more expensive lodges. The lodge provides basic but sufficient accommodation and its official tour operator is excellent (the most important aspect of a jungle trip is to have a good guide) with very good knowledge of the flora and fauna and they take good care of you and the of the jungle. The food (and the coffee!) was good, rooms were basic but good, the view of the lake is amazing. I would definitely go back.

Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion

Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion

Sandoval (Near Puerto Pardo)

Surrounded by lush tropical rainforest and accessed by the Madre de Dios riverboat from Puerto Maldonado port, Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion is located in Puerto Maldonado. The excursions were well planned and engaging. The trip to lake Sandoval was a particular highlight. In general, the whole experience was thoughtfully executed, from the guided activities to the meals to the travel logistics; one also had plenty of alone time in between, just when you wanted it. The staff were truly exceptional--all friendly and genuinely welcoming. Finally the accommodation was very special, striking the right balance between comfort and feeling like you're deep in the jungle. There was plenty of wildlife to see (and hear!) all the time.

Green Diamond Amazon Lodge

Green Diamond Amazon Lodge

Sandoval (Near Puerto Pardo)

Set in Sandoval, Green Diamond Amazon Lodge offers full board accommodations with a restaurant, barbecue facilities and a spa center. A friend and I made a last minute booking to the area of Puerto Maldonaldo and we were provided with great service from the word go. All the staff at the resort are so friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming, giving the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful setting on the river. I would recommend booking extra activities especially the adventure day including zip lining and kayaking along the river watching the sunset. A special mention to our amazing guide Geampier who made us feel so welcome and quickly became a good friend. The food exceeded our expectations and offered variety and selection for every meal! Overall I would recommend this lodge to everyone who is looking to have an unforgettable experience in this area at great value for money! Thanks to all the staff and Jorge for a great stay! We hope to visit again in the future.

Corto Maltes Amazonia

Corto Maltes Amazonia

Sandoval (Near Puerto Pardo)

Offering all-inclusive rates and located in Puerto Maldonado in the Madre de Dios Region, Corto Maltes Amazonía provides bungalow accommodations deep in the amazon jungle. Corto Maltes Amazonia far exceeded my expectations in every way. The location is perfect if you’re seeking a true Amazon jungle experience. The property sits along the massive Madre de Dios River, is beautifully landscaped with lots of gorgeous tropical plants, yet is smack at the edge of the jungle. Our family of four adults rented two thatched roof bungalows which were spacious and just rustic enough to enhance the jungle experience, yet offered every necessary amenity including ample hot water for showers. Critters (of a good kind!) inhabit the property and were frequently seen wandering about. We all fell in love with the friendly, wild toucan. The food was way, way better than we had anticipated. Every meal was unique, fresh, and wonderful. The restaurant itself was quite nice, yet still maintained the Amazon feeling. Corto Maltes Amazonia has a large and attentive staff; every employee is helpful and friendly. Our guide, Franklin, was incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of the jungle and was happy to share his knowledge with us on the various included excursions. Paul in the restaurant was great and I’m happy to have met him. Helene, the pretty young French girl in the gift shop, always greeted everyone with a warm smile. The price to stay at Corto Maltes is actually very reasonable, considering that it’s all-inclusive (except for drinks at the bar) and I do mean everything is included. Super lodging, great food, excursions, transfers, wifi during limited hours, etc. For me and my family, it was the best of all worlds!
