Located in the renowned surfing haven of Teahupoo, with amazing views over the lagoon, Vanira Lodge offers a range of unique bungalows made of natural materials and built by local craftsmen. The bungalow was very original, I felt like sleeping in the nature while in comfort. For me, this lodge is the most creative and original in French Polynesia
Facing the world-renowned surf break of Teahupoo Tahiti, this property features sea views and a 24/7 front desk. It is ideally located for swimming, surfing, kayaking and snorkeling. Perfect location right in front of famous surf break, we saw whales breach from the deck! Close to restaurant. Bungalow had everything you needed and AC was a nice touch. We did not have 4wheel drive car and had to walk bout 5 minutes... not a problem for us. We really enjoyed our stay!
Located in Taravao, Omati Lodge features BBQ facilities and a garden. Among the various facilities of this property are a terrace and a shared lounge with a TV. Absolutely beautiful property, most gracious host. Awesome facilities, couldn’t ask for more. Will definitely be back!
Offering a private beach, a swimming pool and stunning lagoon waters, Punatea Village is set on 9,000 square yards of tropical gardens. Location was superb, the facilities were amazing and it felt like we were staying at our own resort. Lots of options for activities both included and at additional cost. Would highly recommend for couples and familes
This small 4 star hotel is located in a secluded bay, offering private bungalows just 33 feet from the tropical waters of the Pacific Ocean. Location was great. Far from Papeete. Large bungalow, very quiet. Victor and his family were very accommodating.
Just 1.2 mi from Taravao town center, Villa Mitirapa features luxurious villas with a private plunge pool and a terrace offering wonderful views of the gardens, mountains and ocean. Highly recommend Villa Mitirapa and well worth the trip to another part of the island. Stayed in Villa Hotu for 3 nights. Villa is right on the beach and in a stunning, peaceful location - the sunsets are amazing. The villa is very private, comfortable and has everything you need, and you are well looked after by Vaite and Stephanie. Loved kayaking on the lagoon, relaxing in the pool, and just a great place to chill out. Supermarket close by and great BBQ. Perfect mix of home from home whist enjoying something quite special.
Offering a year-round outdoor pool and barbecue, Villa ManaOra is set in Taravao. Papeete is 37 mi from the property. The property is beautiful and in a great location. The pool and grass are lovely. The outside kitchen space in the bungalow was perfect and it was a dreamy stay.
Quiet, beautiful scenery and sunsets, a great place to relax and unwind. There is a small cafe within 10 minutes walking. Kayaks and stand up padle boards if you want to get out on the water. Great snorkeling.
Known for competitive ‘Big Wave’ riding out on a distant reef, Teahupoo is at the end of the road...Papette is a far distance, so bring what you need and want. This is a place for beauty and layed back living. Shop at any of the large markets on the way, stock up and enjoy your stay. At about half way, the Maui Restaurant has a very nice lunch selection overlooking the water and beach. Actually, this was my favorite place to have a nice meal, wine or beer, a beautiful view and had friendly staff. Rental car is preferable to public transportation, but fairly pricy.
This is definitely not the part of Tahiti you should stay (unless you are a surfer pro). There is no restaurants, shops, or people around after 4pm. Not even beach to enjoy. You should stay up in the big island around Papeete. Take the car and go to check on teahupoo - the round trip won't take you more than half day
Warren and Karine were super sweet and attentive. They are genuine and always went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed and were comfortable and happy. They had a special gesture waiting for us on arrival to congratulate us on our honeymoon. They honestly are a lovely couple and we really loved staying at their place.
Teahupoo is at the end of the long road from Papeete on Tahiti Iti. Although it takes a litle while to get there, it is quiet, out of the way. You must have a car and traffic out of Papeete maybe be heavy. We are at a couple food trucks along the way and there is a Carrefour supermarket not far in the town of Taravao.
This is the most Southern part of the two main Tahitian Islands. We didn't like the area around the airport, but just starting driving and find many hidden jewels here. Tahitian living is so relaxing and enjoyable. Love the Tahitian people and their welcoming attitude.
