Located 2.3 miles from Banaue Rice Terraces, Bogah Homestay has accommodations with a restaurant, a terrace and a shared kitchen for your convenience. Free WiFi is offered. Spectacular view from the room to Banaue, and to the local rice terraces. Kind and helpful staff, good food.
I mainly just loved the whole trip there. The driving was demanding and I was glad I had a good driver , as I am too old to drive up and down passes for hours on end. But the views are fabulous, really worth the trip. As I am not too good walking any more, I just enjoyed the views, the food and the people. But there are many great walks to be had, if one is fit. To see the amount of work that must have gone to create all the terraces, and the work still being done to plant and harvest the rice from those places is really impressive, and well worth the trip.
If you’re thinking Batad to be sort of like a chill and walk in the park kind of experience like Sagada, it’s not. It demands strength, patience and preparation because it is mostly meant to be hiked to generally enjoy what it offers and experience its gems firsthand, but I can assure, if you made it, it will be very worth it.
Banaue is a good starting point to go to Batad, wich is more interesting in differents ways : fresh air (there's no road so no contamination), awesome view directly from the village and your homestay, waterfalls and hiking.
Banaue and the rice terraces is a Wonderfull place to see, all those villages offer scenic views and if you go there in April, you may have a chance to enjoy the Imbayah festival which celebrate the harvest.
The best time to visit Banaue is during summer months ( March-June). But if you prefer a cloudy and cold ambiance you may visit during bermonths (September to December). Remember to book on time. Always respect other culture and do not litter anywhere. Hydrate yourself from time to time and for security and assistance help desk at tourism office could lend you a hands to guide and help you.
Road going there seems ro be narrow and a lttle bit dangerous. It is a magnificent tourist spot but the main route must be improved and buses must be able to reach the summit safely. Viewpoints need more parking areas must be improve and welcoming staff be posted. Put some donation boxes because tourists will not hesitate to donate some money for improvement purposes.
I don’t know why the ratings are quite low, it was good I didn’t base my judgment on these numbers. What I love the most was that all rooms had its own toilet! Rooms had normally two beds to accommodate extra companions, we were a company of 6 and we all got our own rooms (couple and a room for our single friends). Food was great, homemade and the service very friendly and warm and quite fast! I don’t remember having to wait long. The girls also had a ready smile on their faces. The dining area has a nice view and even inside, it was very comforting to dine. Everything was also being constantly cleaned - early morning and night I saw someone sweeping. Everything we ate was delicious (we had breaking lunch and dinner there). Most unforgettable for me was the so-called cheese pancake- fluffy and crispy to the bite! My friend said it didn’t realize taste cheese, maybe they should rename it to classic pancake- whatever - to me they were perfect!! Strawberry jam was available but even within it was very tasty, maybe honey and butter would be a good addition. Charging sockets were available in every room to charge.. there was a good supply of warm water - perfect shower after a long days trek. Bed was also comfy enough to sleep in. Extra points for the postcard postal service! You could write a postcard (just 25 pesos) plus stamps (25 pesos) and off the card goes! Overall a very lovely warm stay, central to many places - souvenirs, other restaurants and shops. We came with the car and that was also not a problem. Would definitely stay here again!
1st the location is amazing, near a river, several minutes away from the city centre, and a drive away from Batad and other destinations such as the hot spring. 2nd) The staff is very welcoming and helpful, the place sent us a tricycle driver to pick us from the bus stop and gave us a ride when we checked out too. They also helped us with our tours around such as rice terraces. We stayed in a large room for 4 persons and with a private shower and toilet, with a small balcony with a view to the river, the room was very clean. The food (breakfast and lunch) delicious. Very recommended place.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. They know what you need before you even have to ask. The water is hot and the rooms were big and clean. The food was great, even for vegetarians and very good price. We only ate at the restaurant there. We loved staying there and even extended our stay. We felt like honoured guests.
The banana pancakes are soooo good, actuallly the local food is so good in this homestay.. The personnel are kind and generous ! The view from the bedroom it’s stunning !! I’ll recommend 100% to stay there
