-Will be nice gate way to Palawan island once flights from Manila/Cebu and direct shutlle service between El Nido resumed. -Only 2.5hrs from El Nido. (There is no direct shuttle service between El Nido and San Vicente currently as only Sunlight Air is operating two flights/week between Manila) El Nido to the junction 2hours+ by shuttle to PPS with PHP300 The junction to San Vicente 40mins by shuttle from PPS or e-trikes with PHP200 -Long beach and Bato ni Ningning (view point) are awesome.
Sunset Colors is a wonderfully magical, picturesque and idyllic paradise location. Luiz, and the entire team at Sunset Colors went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs. Including our specific dietary requirements. Each member of staff was helpful and accommodating, to even the most basic tourist questions. Island hoping tours and specific local options such as the amazing nearby natural mountain waterfalls, and Bigaho Beach were suggested, which made for a truly memorable vacation. Regular quick boat rides are available daily from Sunset Colors to the nearby town of Port Barton, before returning to the peace and quiet of this beautiful oasis. I fully intend to visit again and highly recommend Sunset Colors as a wonderful option for anyone seeking peace, tranquility, health and replenishment.
What I really like about Port Barton was it is quiet and there's not a lot of people. They also have really cool snorkeling experience with turtle and I think it's better than the one in El Nido. Staying at a kubo for one night at CXJ Travelers was an experience. If staying longer, I'd probably stay at one of the resorts in front of the beach. I went in September so it wasn't as sunny but my group doesn't want the sun on their skin so much so it worked out. But I would definitely go back to Port Barton preferably in the summer to clearly see reefs and fish on snorkeling day.
I cannot imagine why people could prefer Port Barton vs El Nido. While Port Barton is a small village packed with retired geriatric foreigners looking for their happiness with young Filipino wives, El Nido will always be a top class. Port Barton sucks in all categories vs El Nido - the sea, the views, the activities and the others. Never come back to Port Barton again.
I liked the services, staff were great, rooms also and even food. Gigi the owner and Chris were consistently so helpful. Though it was not in their means, roads going to the resort from the main town was rough.
Much more laid back and less expensive than El Nido, but there are not as many stores for shopping. The poverty was not as evident as in El Nido. Plenty of water activities available. in San Vicente and the people are friendly.
