The space and remote location was appropriately sold to us - as Sheila (our host) reminded me, the silence is deafening. Staring at stars night after night protected from light pollution and noise of other islands and nearby events it was perfect spot to unwind.

Very convenient location for orienting before / after the ferry trip(s). The staff was extremely helpful in coordinating rides. The room was simple, quiet, and well air-conditioned.

For this money, definitely the best of all 4 other locations I spent on Siargao Island. Despite the fact that the price is low, for this money you get a nice room with a large desk, new air conditioning, a spacious bathroom, kitchen and a shared living room. You also get a key and the entrance is also private. Admittedly, Dapa is far from tourist spots, but with a cheap scooter rental you can reach all points from 20 to 80 minutes. Plus, the town is local, with a market with a cheap fish assortment. The largest shopping center on the island is 3 minutes out of town. Also, the prices in the restaurant are much more affordable than in tourist places.

The island is secluded (1 hour boat ride from Siargao) and paradisiacal. David and his family are wonderful hosts. Always available while respecting your privacy. He is very open to requests and involved in you having a good time. We didn't want for nothing in terms of food, drinks or activities in the 3 days we spent there. There are small waves you can surf. David provided snorkels, surf and paddle boards. There was electricity, water with good pressure and satellite internet 24/7. Do not expect luxury or variety. This is the only lodging and dining option in the island. The rooms and amenities are VERY basic with no kitchen but clean and comfortable.

The crew was very nice and helpful, the appartment was hugh and well equipped. Very close to dappa pier, the appartment owner also helped me with transportation to the pier for free.

The hotel staff were very accommodating, upgrading our apartment to allow a larger number of us to stay at very low cost. It was well serviced and very comfortable with air conditioning in all bedrooms and suitable fans elsewhere. The staff advised on a good location for our evening meal, which we obtained fro a Filipino restaurant at low cost.

Back for my second stay here and honestly, it’s even better! Still super peaceful and quiet exactly what I needed. Rooms are clean and well-kept, and the whole place feels safe and secure. What’s new this time? They have a new shared kitchen. They’re selling drinks now - beer, sodas, fruit juices and the prices are really good! Plus they got a practice surf board you can use to practice, which is good. Love the chill vibe here. Already thinking about booking again!

I just want to mention that the resort like other resorts in...

I just want to mention that the resort like other resorts in the area was badly damaged by Supertyphoon, local name Odette and have not recovered yet. Much damage still. Noticed other small resorts totally gone. Only some concrete piling left. It will take some time to rebuild the area but our stay at Tara was ok.

Nothing that was advertised was available. The diving board is half sinking and wouldn’t recommend stepping on it without a tetanus shot. All paddle boards and kayaks have holes…you will sink. Do not eat there, you will be sorry. The highlight was the hot water, but make sure you bring your own cleaning products because the toilet leaks straight onto the ground of the shower.
