The location is unbeatable, close to everything and within walking distance to great restaurants. The convenience store next door was handy for snacks. The staff was exceptionally kind and attentive, making my stay enjoyable and well worth the price. I would definitely return

I had checked out and got a phone call from the hotel letting me know I had forgotten my shorts with a large amount of cash inside. Very honest staff that the owner should be very proud of!! Highly recommended!!

The place is quite big. It can easily accommodate 10 - 20 person. It was clean and there's a lot of sitting capacity, this is actually good for events such as parties. The bathroom is clean and large as well. There's a kitchen where you can cook and complete with utensils too. Kuya (sorry, I'm not good with names), his very accommodating, he took his time to tour us with the place. And is very responsive with our queries.

I really enjoyed my stay here in Surigao. The place was spotless, peaceful, and very comfortable. What made the experience even better was how helpful and accommodating the person in charge was—from helping me arrange a motorbike to assisting with anything I needed during my stay. This home is absolutely beautiful. The design is aesthetically pleasing as well as highly functional. Easily the best place I have stayed in Surigao in 8 years. The hosts are so accommodating and even allowed late check out because we have a young son and were catching the late ferry. The staff helped us rent a motorbike and also sorted out internet for me during a brownout so I could keep working. It's so beautiful and quiet at night and just 10 mins to the mall. Highly recommend.

Incredible Homestay. They have certainly made this friendly and simple little place so incredibly likeable. The town of Surigao doesn't make me stay an extra day, but this Homestay did. Maybe because I had been traveling around Leyte for a while. Spotlessly clean, cozy, spacious and comfortable room with a desk, convenient electricity outlets and attached bathroom. All toiletries supplied. Hot and cold water dispenser in the reception. Coffee, cold drinks, snacks and noodles for sale. I really liked the seaview outdoor sitting area and designated smoking area. Excellent WiFi. Hot shower, but you have to switch on the bathroom lights for it to work, even though you might not need any light! Excellent location right by the entrance to the pier. Jeepneys to the bus terminal leaves right outside the door. This place really is a bit of a hidden gem, as you won't just stumble across it when looking for a place to stay, as there are no signs outside.

Nothing much but surfing. Some popular restaurants are hype.

Nothing much but surfing. Some popular restaurants are hype. The French bakery near the Surf area serves really really good breadz croissants, sourdough and other food. The burger place we went to is much much better than shake shack. The coffee place we tried serves much much better coffee than starbucks and zus.

Surigao is recovering from damage caused by typhoon Odette.

Surigao is recovering from damage caused by typhoon Odette. I suggest waiting a year or so before visiting here. It was rainy and windy during our visit so not fair to comment. Did not feel safe to walk around at night. We observed many blatant drug users along the Seawall opposite our hotel.

We had a very comfortable stay for a night. The place is across Macapagal Port, Surigao City. Very accessible if you are going to catch a ferry going to Siargao. Rooms are as pictured. Pictures are accurate. The facade may not be enticing but the rooms are clean and has enough space for us. The reception was pleasant. He waited for us when we arrived late and sent us off early in the morning. And the property owner responds to messages timely and adequately.

We really liked the ocean view from our room. Quick access from the Tavern Hotel to the waterfront walk was very handy. The room was large and nicely laid out with lots of room for our stuff. Hottest shower on our trip so far. Aircon worked great. Helpful staff. Great breakfast area, also with wonderful staff and a great view. Good value. Solid dependable place to stay in Surigao City. Easy access to the port. Loved exploring the city.

The Hotel Tavern Annex is located across the street from the Hotel Tavern - so it does not have the ocean view. But - it is almost half the price and everything works great - hot shower - good wifi - good aircon - so this place is a great value. Also has great access to all the stuff you want to get to in Surigao City including the waterfront, port, eateries and public market.

Central location, lots of restaurants nearby and surrounding area ! There is a small kiosk in the hotel with the necessary ! Air conditioning! Good wifi ! And have all the bathroom items you need ❣️The most important thing is the bed is big and cozy ! Highly recommended and one of the 3 hotels in Surigao city that I personally Can and would recommend!

The View was exceptional. It was just like in Coron, Palawan. Where the sea meets the land. And the view was amazing. At the front you will see leyte. I was shocked that they're language was not Cebuano but instead surigaonon. Good thing the other host knows that I am not from there.
