The place is modest but turned out to be very comfortable for us. It had everything we needed. The beds where comfortable and the Kitchen well stocked. Aircon worked good. TV was good. Hot water all around. Overall a comfortable two nights. Would come again.

We had our flight cancelled and had to delay our arrival from Singapore for an entire day. I called the front desk at 3 a.m. to let the know we would be delayed. They made sure that our driver waited and pick us up at the airport. And when we arrived at the resort at 4 a.m. the next day, we were taken immediately to our room, where we spent a very restful day recharging after our ordeal. Such a quiet location, too. We loved it!

Jointly owned by American husband and Filipina wife, who have managed to deliver the great things about staying in the Visayas countryside while removing many of the usual local annoyances. Clean, recently constructed, well-built to keep mosquitoes and other bugs out. Magnificent sea view. Food delicious, menu with perhaps fewer options than other resorts, but all menu items in stock (for PH, a small miracle!) and very tasty. Snorkeling out front also quite nice — saw a bristle-tailed filefish that was new to me after hundreds of dives in PH. Friendly, generous, and kind service. Quiet but still well-located near Lilo-An ferry, Oslob whale sharks, several beautiful waterfalls, and Italian, Belgian, and local restaurants.

Beautiful place, incredibly kind and welcoming host family. They shared so much about the culture and way of life, made tea for my sister when she wasn’t feeling well, offered great recommendations of places to visit and how to get there. Ginatilan seems a little far but it’s so worth it to come here. Everyone in the town is super friendly and there is very tasty and affordable food, especially at the public market. It’s easy to arrive and go around by bus, we also chose to rent scooters in Moalboal and this was an especially fun way to explore south Cebu and the waterfalls. There are two rooms available, both in the upstairs of the house, and they share a bathroom and large balcony overlooking the sea. If you have a larger group and book both rooms, it would feel like you have the upstairs to yourself, or it could be a nice way to meet a few fellow travelers without feeling like you are in a busy/touristy place. Our only piece of advice is to bring your own coffee if you don’t like instant. Ginatilan doesn’t have coffee shops that open early, just a few iced coffee drink places that open around 10am. Also you can swim in the sea right outside the house, but the beach is a little rocky so it would be good to bring water shoes. All in all we loved it here and hope to go back someday!
