The reception was grand in appearance while the restaurant was historical and well appointed.
The room was well presented very clean and tidy.

If you like Cartagena de Indias, or old La Habana, or the historical center of Oaxaca, then you'll you also like Vigan. Vigan is a lot smaller and laid-back though with friendly people and an interesting mix of some well kept ancestral buildings, others in a semi-ruined state, and the other parts of town like any other village in the Philippines.

Coming from Cebu City, there is a striking difference...
Coming from Cebu City, there is a striking difference between the people as well as the architecture. We went in Mid May and the town was not overrun with tourists. So it was easy to do the sightseeing.
Most things are close by and fairly much in walking distance - if it is not too hot for you.
Seeing architecture and their development from hispanic to American to modern style was interesting. There is quite a lot of explanation given - should you be looking for it, and some local guides are eager to show you their treasures.

Vigan is a nice, small, historical, Spanish influenced town with very nice shops, restaurants, and architecturally pleasing structures. They have a nearby airport which offers flights to Manila, and the Partas bus terminal is only a 5 minute trike ride from the town square area; you can pretty much get anywhere by trike for only 50-100 php. The nearest beach, Santa Catalina, is only about a 10-12 minute trike ride from downtown Vigan; the beach area is underdeveloped but the sunset is still beautiful!

it's so amazing the government (city and municipal) have...
it's so amazing the government (city and municipal) have maintained it's legacy, structures and history. there is a story that visitors learned from it's museum and buildings. Vigan takes pride in knowing that great leaders of its time were from the place too. such an attraction for visitors to learn and live the culture.

There is a good selection of restaurants.
The kalesa ride was a disappointment, we paid p400 for an hour, it lasted barely 30 minutes. He took us to 2 places we had already visited.

We liked the location. It’s few steps away from Calle Crisologo. The hotel has a Hispanic era vibe which we liked very much. Check in/out was seamless even though we checked in late in the night, their staff were there waiting to assist with our suitcases, etc. Staff were polite and accommodating; breakfast menus were great. We enjoyed our stay very much. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay that feels like home in Vigan.
