Staff are very attentive, the buffet breakfast is very good and the location is ideal (right by the bus stop into town - same bus also goes to the railway station (no, 19) and if you want to walk into town it only takes about 20 minutes.

An average Polish city according to my local guides. You can see a mix of very old pre-war buildings, old state-build functional building and new constructions. The centre of town is lovely with splendid churches at every corner. The periphery is less pretty so I would advise remaining within the centre of the city or out in the countryside. Heads up: no shops are open on Sunday! But you can take part in beautiful masses all around town.

Good spot to stop, if you’re going to visit the Gołuchów castle, which shall be your main destination even if you wanted to just visit Kalisz. Noticed numerous drunk (not pleasant) people. The main market square and the park nearby was ok.

Nice old city of Poland with a great city park, waterpark and old market in a city centre. A lot of stores and shopping centres. Could be more restaurants especially in the evening time. Kalisz is too far from main roads (A2, S8), so it takes too much time to reach any airport

We saw two very interesting museums.
We saw two very interesting museums. We even managed to watch the last Kalisz football match of the season. Excellent, impressive stadium and free entry! If you like ice cream as much as the locals do you will be spoilt for choice at around 4pln for a large cone (90p-ish)

Kailsz is my wife's home town .
Kailsz is my wife's home town .. we live in the UK and visit Kalisz often. It is a great place to visit. Good train and bus links, and local taxis are good and plentiful. Visit the historic parts of the old town and the new shopping arcades.
