A combination of both industrial heritage transformation...
A combination of both industrial heritage transformation with fabulous shopping malls , a very long Main Street lined with attractive restaurants. But also with a tragic history connected with suffering of both Jewish and Polish suffering in World War 2 . You need a map to get around and much valuable information is proved by the Tourist office. If it saves time use taxis to explore .

The city centre is lovely, lots of excellent restaurants and plenty of shops. Manufaktura shopping centre is very pleasant with all the usual shops but a nicer venue than in many countries. The square is delightful too.
I loved the restored old factory buildings and the Art Nouveau Mansions on Piotrkowska St.
Public transport is good and free for over seventies.
A very pleasant city to spend a day or two with green spaces to walk through and sit in as well and plenty of cafes.
A good place to walk around in and take in the interesting history of the cotton industry.

Lodz is not a very touristic city, it is not one of the most beautiful cities of Poland, as it is very industrial and new, but for a short weekend is ok. Night life is very nice and I recommend checking Manufaktura, the bars and the clubs. Is also a place with an important part of Polish history, if you are interested in 20th European century history, I recommend going to the Radegast station, as is a part of Polish history that is sometimes forgotten in this city.

Lodz Museum, Manufactura Shopping complex and Piotrkowska...
Lodz Museum, Manufactura Shopping complex and Piotrkowska Street were highlights. On 6th January they celebrate a procession of the Three Kings but dress warmly for snow conditions and wear appropriate footwear as the roads and paths are icy and slippery.
Lavender restaurant near the Manufactura precinct provided great meals.
Most cafes provide excellent coffee, tea and cakes.
Travel by trams is very handy and taxis are quite inexpensive and very reliable.
Accommodation close to the central part of Lodz is recommended. We stayed about 2 km from the central part of Lodz and found it too far to walk. It is a good thing that Taxis are inexpensive and reliable. A visit to a restaurant for Pierogi is a must.
very quick registration. it is apart hotel, so you will have to go 40 m to enter nextdoors. every room design theme is connected with a cinema masterpiece (we stayed at "titanic" room with a ship steering wheel, big globe and "times" newspaper's cover from the 15th of April 1912). the location is perfect, the heart of the old town, main walking street, Piotrkowska.
Beautiful interiors, the lobby, the staircases, the Malinowa Restaurant where breakfast is served are simply amazing. SPA and gym decor are mind blowing. Staff very kind, breakfast delicious. We’re very proud to have such a hotel in Łódź!
Ibis have undergound parking. The hotel place is in good place. Administrator was very friendly and gave a toy for our tired baby. We had upgrade to Novotel hotel. So everuthing was perfect. Room was very good.
The hotel became quite old-ish and dingy since its grand opening. Worn-out battered furniture furniture, very dirty carpeting. Not the quality nor experience I expected from this brand.
