Offering an outdoor pool, views for the Tejo River and the Castle of Abrantes, Quinta das Arribas is located in Abrantes. WiFi access is available in this country house. Absolutely stunning location. We really enjoyed our stay which was - in the end - much too short to enjoy more. A very friendly welcome by Yury, and a lovely small house with three rooms (two bedrooms, each equipped with two single beds and shower plus toilet). Kitchen with all required amenities. Marvellous pool with the old castle in sight. You can imagine Lusitanos galopping closeby.
Pedestrian friendly town center. Great views from an absolutely beautiful park by the castle. It's overlooked as a good tourist destination. A new museum has just opened that is definately worth seeing.
We arrived on a Sunday evening and our host kindly phoned round to find a restaurant open and book dinner for us. He organised a taxi to the airport for us the following day and made us feel that nothing was too much trouble. Jose was very warm and welcoming and we thorough.ly enjoyed the time we spent there. Would highly recommend him and his lovely Quinta.
Abrantes train station is south of the river and quite far (3km?) from the centre, but some trains also stop at another station near the historic area. The centre is high up with attractive views towards the Tejo. Abrantes would probably be more visited except for all the competition from so many beautiful towns in Portugal.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Secure motorbiking inside electric gates within grounds of the property. Spacious lounge and kitchen area. Huge bedroom. Seating outside in garden area. Two very effective air conditioner units. Bathroom/wet room is large and very modern. Sensitive shower gel provided. Issue with WiFi quickly resolved. Bed very comfortable and bedroom dark and quiet so a good night's sleep. Easy to stroll into Abrantes in approximately 25 minutes. Use of main house too with communal kitchen and seating areas.
The staff were amazingly accommodating. Everything was supposed to be closed down due to Covid, but they opened the kitchen for me, found me the best takeway open to get food at, let me check out late as I was sick, washed my clothes for me, even complimented my hair ;D The building is also quite amazing for a hostel - view over countryside for miles, big terraces. When I saw Abrantes Castle's amazing view I thought 'yeah, nice, but I already saw this from the hostel'. I couldn't recommend the place more...
We weren't only guests, we felt as friends of Mr. Alberty, the owner of the hotel. He was really kind and nice, he helped us with all we weren't able to solve ourselves because of language. His hotel is really wonderful, romantic and peaceful place, we wanted to stay there forever 🙂 Breakfast were delicious, rooms beautiful (we had even a fireplace in our apartment!), staff kind and helpful. Thanks for everything! We hope that we can return one day.
Beautiful. A former minor palace, in the process of being restored, offers a glimpse into the history of Abrantes and Portugal. The owner has done an excellent job of preserving the feel of a minor palace, while providing guests with a very comfortable place to stay. This was one of our favorite places on our trip. Very helpful reception, good internet, good kitchen, great location.

Great location in the historic centre of Abrantes. Sympathetically restored town house with a well equipped shared kitchen and lovely outdoor space. Generous sized room with private bathroom.
Great breakfast and food in hotel was excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
