Loved Braga and the location of the Vila Gale - brilliant.
Access to the hotel parking, while appreciated, was extremely difficult.
I cannot see the point in having a room with a balcony but no table and chairs on the balcony - quite bizarre

I recommend going to Sameiro and Bom Jesus in that order on the same day. It's a 20 minute walk on the way down from Sameiro to Bom Jesus. Start at the Sameiro cross, continue to the basilica, climb to the top of the dome for the best views. Then go down the stairs to the John Paul II statue, and from there go down to Bom Jesus. Visit the lake, the chapels and the basilica, walk down the stairs, and from the bottom you can take the bus no. 2 back to the centre.
In the centre of Braga don't miss the cathedral, including the choir and chapels which cost extra but are absolutely worth it.

Charming town worth 2-3 days exploring.
Charming town worth 2-3 days exploring. Highly recommend a guided tour to the national park — this was the highlight of our trip. We also enjoyed visiting Bom Jesus do Monte church on the hill. It was easy to take public transport there and back.

Beautifully clean and cosy hotel close to the centre of Braga. The staff were so helpful and friendly especially the man on reception. The breakfast was fresh and there was plenty of choice (fruits, bread, pastries, cereal etc). There is also a lovely terrace off the breakfast room where you can enjoy your breakfast al fresco. The rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. Yes the shower is a bit small but that was not a problem for us at all
We would highly recommend Hotel Residencial Dora
Beautiful hotel in an historic building right in the heart of Braga. We parked in the nearby parking garage Parque Santiago, but I believe there were other options. The rooms were spacious, the breakfast buffet varied and scrumptious, and the three pools (1 indoor; 2 outdoor) were pristine and comfortable. All the staff were very professional and friendly. Highly recommend!
Value for this hotel was very good. The hotel is in a good location in the centre of Braga with very convenient underground parking next door (€10 in cash per day). The room was comfortable and staff were very helpful. Breakfast was adequate, however, reasonable value.
The location of the hotel is ideal for a discovery of old Braga by walk.
The breakfast is correct with a choice on the buffet.
Room's price is a good deal for 4 people.
