All rooms are comfortable, with big bathrooms, kitchenettes, fridges etc. The view from the balcony is awesome, and pool area and indoor pool are super clean and nice. Perfect place for short or long stay for the great price. I'm coming back whenever I can!

It’s confusing in that there are actually two properties - de França and de França do Mar. The former is up a steep hill from the latter. We chose do Mar because we wanted an ocean view; our friends ended up in de França. If I were to go back, I’d choose de França. It’s obviously the original building, and has tons of architectural charm and a beautiful lobby. Their room was much nicer than ours, too. If you’re traveling with children and want to be beat the pool, or are a diver and want a very short walk to the dive shop, the do Mar would be a better choice.
Breakfasts were fantastic!

Considered one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal, charming Funchal is the capital of Madeira Island. It's an important base for tourists from all over the world that come to the Madeira hotels, B&B’s and resorts to enjoy their cliffs and beaches, as well as the island's slopes and colorful towns.
Founded in 1424, its location allowed it to quickly become an important trading harbor, attracting many prominent families. Its mild weather was the beginning of its touristic development in the 18th century, with a therapeutic and health profile.
With the establishment of the port first, and Madeira International/Funchal Airport later, the city grew to become a major destination. Nowadays, the city concentrates most of the hotels, luxury resorts and casinos on Madeira. Accommodations located in Santa Cruz, near Funchal Airport, are also available for those trying to avoid the rush.
Don’t miss a long walk around Sé historical district, and enjoy the Santa Clara Convent and the Sé Cathedral. The Quinta do Palheiro Ferreiro Park and the Mercado dos Lavradores are also a must.

Hotel Madeira was only the start of our visit.
Hotel Madeira was only the start of our visit. We have a timeshare and stayed in Funchal for 3 weeks and 4 days.
The island is fantastic and the residents are very friendly and honest.
Unfortunately there are too many cars using inadequate roads away from the motorways. The restaurants are many and usually excellent with many serving locally sourced cuisine.
It is easy to walk around the centre of Funchal but travelling by bus is cheap and good for Funchal and to go to nearby towns such as Machico, Curral das Frieras and Câmara de Lobos but other areas need a hire car or taxi but you can catch early morning buses to some longer distant areas such as Porto Moniz.

It was much more built up and touristy than I thought it would be, not a great place for walkers, it’s mostly up or down apart from the sea front, though we did enjoy the sea front walk to the next village. It is hard to get to the Levada walks unless you go on a tour or have a car. It was more of a city break so possibly not right place for us. We enjoyed the buses which were easy to use and we wet to the Nun’s Valley, Monte and the start of Levada dos Tornos on them and also used Bolt to get taxi’s which was easy.

Property is very well located near the centre of Funchal, much nearer than most of the other 4/5 star hotels in the hotel zone which are both further away and typical up a few steep hills. It had excellent amenities such as great restaurant, pool, spa treatments and attentive staff. Breakfast buffet was top notch. We were also upgraded to a Junior Suite.
The hotel itself backs onto a shopping centre, which proved extremely useful for picking up last minute holiday bits (sun cream, socks, pharmacy etc)
All of the staff couldn’t do enough for you whether it was needing a shower after check out, looking after our baggage, borrowing travel plugs, reserving tables and just really nice and friendly people.
The photos do not do this place justice whatsoever.
I was expecting a nice hotel but it’s the best hotel we have ever stayed in. All of the food was very very nice.
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone visiting Madeira. it’s about a 10 minute walk to the centre of Funchal.
A special hotel!
I am very satisfied with my choice of Florasol Residence Hotel - Dorisol hotels! Location was perfect, short walk distance to the town centre! Bus stop just by the hotel! Staff very friendly and helpful ;-) We stayed at the apartment with a view of the ocean ( it was at the 11 floor - as I requested ) ! Clean and well maintained outdoor swimming pool, breakfast fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this property in Funchal, Madeira :-)
Beautiful location
Nearby restaurant with local food
And coffee with sea view 😍
Easy transportation available
Bus 01 to Funchal in every 30 to 40 min available near house
Very supportive owner
Even he helped to visit some specific places in Madeira and show us city by car
And big thanks for wine 🍷 😍
House is just 500 meters from the beach ⛱️
Overall, I am in love with this place ,people and city 😍
Thank you
Everything, the room with an unexpected kitchen area, the balcony the great selection at breakfast, the pool, the outdoor area and the bar area.
Also the bus stop is right outside so only 10-15 minutes into central Funchal and a lot of the tours pick up from outside the hotel too.
When I return to Madeira I will definitely stay here again.
