An absolutely gorgeous place in an absolutely gorgeous environment. I wish we could have stayed more than one night to enjoy it! You’re right by the lake, rather than in Furnas town, and the staff helped us arrange a taxi into town for dinner/drinks. Peaceful and stunning.

Such a wonderful hotel, with wonderful staff and a wonderful view over a wondeful little town!!! We came to stay 2 days and here I am on Day 6 writing a review! The hotel is really cool and has everything you need for such a good price. The room is really comfortable with a massive bed and a balcony you can just spend hours on in the sun (when it shines) admiring the view, or even watching the rain is quite relaxing. Breakfast is a huge buffet of everything you could need with coffee machines and orange juice as well. Best of all is the staff. Tania on the front desk is simply a bunde of joy and will enthusiastically give you all the info you need about the island. All the rest of the staff say hello to you as well... I can't recommend this place highly enough.

This was probably the best place I have ever stayed at. It has everything you need. It's clean, the hosts communicated exceptionally well. It has some modern features but still has classical elements to the house. The hot tub was a bonus. My family couldn't be happier!

Great , private location with 180 degree views of the lake from high ground. Very easy walk to the lake and all the trails. Very open living and dining space with great window views. Good heat and air systems. Quick 5 minutes drive to Furnas. I would recommend to anyone. Tip - After passing the entrance to the Lake on the left..... the entrance is the next green metal gate on the right.

Spectacular park and hot springs. The foliage in the park is magnificent rivalling some of the most iconic parks in the world. Quiet, close to quiet seaside town with whale watching, fishing and good food.

The best place to stay on Sao Miguel.

The best place to stay on Sao Miguel. You can easily walk to Lake Furnas and Parque Grená which has lots of waterfalls. There are thermal springs you can visit at both Terra Nostra and Poça da Dona Beija (which was great at night time). Espinha cocktail bar was lovely as was Terra Nostra Restaurant. You could spend a whole day walking around the area where there are parks with geothermal activity and a beautiful church in the centre. We ate in a lot and there are lots of lovely bakeries in the town and supermarkets.

Exceptionally nice and comfortable accommodation.

Exceptionally nice and comfortable accommodation. The accommodation was in a quiet location close to a large park, the town centre and excellent restaurants (especially a superb "Restaurante Tony's"). A free parking space on the street nearby was available even when returning from trips in the evening. The landlady was very nice, she cleaned the room every day and changed the towels every day. Cleanliness was outstanding. The room overlooking the courtyard with the pool and with access to the terrace (table, parasol, chairs) was spacious and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace and a kettle in the room contributed to the morning comfort.

This is a rather hilly town, so it might not be ideal for...

This is a rather hilly town, so it might not be ideal for people with walking difficulties. In many of the streets the cobbled footpaths are very narrow - less than a metre wide - and many drivers go much too fast, which is scary for pedestrians. Finding a place to park near the centre is virtually impossible. I imagine a wheelchair user would struggle with the narrow, cobbled streets. However, Furnas has got lots of friendly, helpful people who seem to be happy to direct visitors to the caldeiras (hot springs) and other attractions such as the botanic gardens. If you don't speak Portuguese, you'll find many of the younger people, and those in tourist-facing businesses speak at least some "tourist English". Many of the signs in areas that are of interest to tourists are printed in Portuguese and English.

Beautiful houses in lovely park surrounded by bamboo plantation, SPA, cold swimming pool, warm jacuzzi bath, sauna and gym. Walking threw the town and the fantastic botanical garden, looking for the cozido cooking in the hot pools and relaxing in the warm thermal pools. Looking for restaurant "Tony", meals must ordered a day before.

The location is perfect for Furnas activities and amenities. The apartment is beautifully presented and well furnished with everything you need. The spacious living area, bedroom and bathroom were all clean. Tidy and welcoming. It was everything we'd hoped for. The host was lovely and responded quickly when required.
