We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful historical house. There is lots of space inside (library, sitting rooms) and outside (pool area, formal garden, 80 hectars of forest and surrounding area) which is true luxury. The family of the owners are exceptionally friendly and answer all questions (although for them it must be a constant repetition). The breakfast was excellent. We felt really at home. In fact, it is so nice, that one rather stays at the property than visits the surrounding cities. Some guests remarked that the bathroom is small: this is true, but the bathroom is very functional and hence absolutely satisfying.

Silvio’s property is incredible. Not only is it beautiful - every little detail has been cared for. The rooms and property are very clean and beautiful and Silvio’s hospitality and welcoming attitude makes it even better. We travelled to the accommodation by bus. In advance, Silvio responded to messages promptly and was flexible with our check in time. When we arrived we were awestruck by how beautiful everything was. When we entered our room, we were greeted with fresh orange juice and pastries. Throughout our stay, anything we asked was taken care of by Silvio. After a sudden storm, the sunloungers cushions were wet. Silvio immediately went out of his way to find some dry ones for us. When we indicated we would go to the store by bus, he offered to drive us if we needed it. We asked to use the hot tub later in the evening, also no problem. This transformed the beautiful property into a warm and welcoming place. We hope to be back someday and will remember this stay as one of the best we have ever had.

Dating back to 1688, the Casa do Ribeiro features renovated antique furnishings, classically-painted ceilings and a landscaped garden. The unit is located 5.6 mi from Guimarães, in Selho. Amazing experience. My grandparents stayed at this wonderful historical house one night, and they spent around one hour talking about the place, the beautiful gardens, the delicate and special decoration... They also mentioned that the bed, sheets and towels were really high quality. The manager seemed to be incredibly nice, but the greatest was apparently the breakfast. They usually go to four or five starts hotels so they fact that they remarked how good it was, how complete and greatly done is quite something. They will definitely stay there again soon, and I might as well do so.
