I will absolutely return to LagosMar. The hotel was perfectly situated and close to everything, and had anything you could ask for. The people who worked there made my stay wonderful. Hernani was so helpful during the day, and Patricia was a warm friend to me to come home to. I can’t wait to see them again. Thank you!

With a long and rich history, Lagos is nowadays a famous beach resort of the sunny Portuguese region of Algarve. Including wide sandy beaches and quiet coves enclosed by ochre cliffs, it also offers a lively city centre with one of the best mixes between history and modernity in the region.
King Henry the Navigator chose it as a base for his trips of discovery during the 15th century, and later on, it became the residence of the Algarve governors. The Old Town is circled by medieval walls, typical narrow streets, historic buildings and charming squares. B&B’s and hotels in Lagos’s historic centre allow you to enjoy these picturesque surroundings.
Apart from being an important centre for sailing, the city has amazing beaches, like Meia Praia or Praia da Dona Ana. Resorts and hotels on Lagos’ beaches are the perfect choice for sun lovers, while the hotels near the modern Lagos Marina are popular, as they are both close to the centre and the railway station.
The city is 90 km from Faro Airport, and 24 km from Portimão. Check out the Lagos hotels deals on Booking.com before travelling!
Lagos is a seaside town with lots to offer. Old town, winding streets, array of restaurants, marina, wide sandy beaches, coves. Great for swimming and canoeing. Lovely towns nearby to visit and Spalsh and Slide waterpark, very impressive.

Lagos is fine.
Lagos is fine. The Tivoli Hotel with its totally stupid "Pet Policy" is a place that should be avoided because the food--breakfast and dinner--is not high quality. The room was extremely plain and the air conditioner on the balcony leaked. Our miserable visit to the Tivoli Hotel is the worse thing about Lagos. Pick another place and enjoy Lagos.

Loved Lagos.
Loved Lagos. Was debating where to stay on the Algarve and really happy we went with Lagos in the end. Stayed there for 4 nights and 5 days and was definitely sad to be leaving, could’ve done with a few days longer. Although we did feel like we had seen most of the city so if we stayed for longer we’d probably have liked to do a day trip somewhere or two.

Nice and cosy city with beautiful beaches and hiking spots...
Nice and cosy city with beautiful beaches and hiking spots around "Ponta da Piedade". A variety of activities (Boat tours, kayaking, dolphin watching and caves tours, etc) start from the Lagos marina. A perfect place to experience Algarve.

I think the town is wonderful!
I think the town is wonderful! Great shops, gorgeous cliff sides & rock caves to kayak. The restaurants downtown were all delicious; we especially loved Barbosa & Mimar Tapas!! Beaches were clean and uncrowded. Next visit we will stay longer. Overall great experience!!
Beautiful boutique hotel with the most amazing owners in the historic center of Lagos! Marek and Isabel have created a true oasis for their visitors! The rooms are comfortable and clean, their is an amazing rooftop area where you can relax that has beautiful views of the city and sea, and there is a nice shared kitchen. They are generous with their advice and follow up by sending you the locations via WhatsApp which is super helpful. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful property!
Perfect location - The hotel is in a roundabout. But don’t panic like I did in my first day there 😀take tfirst right ,10 min walking to the most beautiful beaches from Algarve. Second right - you are in the old town where you’ll find all what you need- amazing food, great drinks, shopping. You’re also close to the Lagos Marina.
The room was spacious and clean, same the bathroom. It would be too small for a couple , but for a solo traveler was perfect .
Immaculately clean hotel. The room was absolutely gorgeous with a wonderful balcony overlooking the marina. Lovely spacious bathroom too and heated pool up on the roof. Breakfast was delicious with the best cappuccinos I have ever had! Would definitely come back to this hotel. Staff were so friendly too.
Lovely hotel in an excellent location. Very nice bedroom and bathroom and a great walk in shower. Very clean and well
maintained. Staff were always very attentive, helpful and courteous. We would definitely stay at the Tivoli Lagos again and recommend it to others.
Lovely quiet location on the edge of Lagos, with a short cheap taxi ride in. Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms, pools and restaurant and brilliantly helpful and attentive staff. Will definitely be returning again next year!
