Hotel in Luso
Located on the slopes of Buçaco Mountain, this hotel is only 0.6 mi from the Buçaco Forest and is a 2-minute walk from Luso’s thermal spa. It has a restaurant. I work online while traveling, and was staying at a friend's place in Penacova, but it was super cold so I came here because I saw it was a good price and had WiFi and air conditioner heating in all the rooms. I was very pleasently surprised. The staff are so friendly and super helpful, the hotel was dated but with super comfortable beds, with a spacious breakfast room, indoor dip pool which I didn't try but good to know fur next time. The room had great curtains fitted blackout, no street noise over night, and best of all the bath has spa bubbles!! The hotel decor is old, fashioned, but it's stacked full of interesting artwork and the location is just brilliant, 20 mins walk to the forest and 30 mins to Buçaco Palace. I will stay here again.

Clean and spacious room/bathroom, several wall sockets available for charging our devices, extra pillow, tv with good reception, location in the center of Luso, friendly/helpful staff and breakfast with some nice touches like boiled eggs and Portuguese milk buns. Overall we had a great time at Hotel Central and will be back whenever we return to Luso.

This XIX's Palace shows you the charming atmosphere of a medieval English castle. You will be able to relax here, while enjoying its beautiful and amazing decoration. Charming old building with lovely furniture and garden. The spa bath in the room was a great treat :0) As was the room itself , clean and spacious. The Thermals and town are only a few minutes walk away. Unfortunately due to covid restrictions alot of places were shut as were most takeaways, but the hotel phoned some restaurants and helped to find me some dinner. I look forward to returning.

Rosa Biscoito Suites offers accommodations in Luso. Rooms have a flat-screen TV. Some units have a seating area to relax in after a busy day. A terrace or balcony are featured in certain rooms. The hosts/owners Guida and her husband were eminently helpful, polite and obliging. They were always ready to listen and answer questions with local information. Their cafe which is part of the facility, served great, locally produced wholesome snacks. Their restaurant about 100 metres away is without doubt the best in town. Sea bass and codfish especially recommended.

Grande Hotel De Luso, Alegre Hotel Bussaco, and Hotel Central are some of the popular hotels in Luso.
Located in the heart of the Serra do Bussaco, Palace Hotel do Bussaco is an excellent example of Manueline-Gothic architecture. Its richly decorated corridors feature antique furnishings, large paintings and traditional Portuguese glazed tiles. Bussaco National Forest is wonderful.
Luso itself is a small nineteenth-century spa town--not much to do there except 'take the waters' (which my wife did, very enthusiastically) and walk in the national forest. It's a place for the sensitive, quieter traveller, rather than someone seeking thrills and excitement.
The Bucaco National Forest was very interesting with the beautiful Bucaco Palace and convent. Lots of walks in the forest and the amazing trees. Pedra de Sal and Taberna Do Burriqueiro great eating placings.
Luso and the surrounding area are beautiful. We enjoyed our overnight visit. We had dinner in Mealhada, enjoying the local specialty, leitao. We stayed at the Bussaco Palace Hotel which is in a beautiful location but in need of an update.
May is off season, so some shops and restaurants were not open. But there was plenty to see and do in town. And we made easy day trips to Coimbra and Porto. We did not take advantage of the famous Luso Thermal Spa, but certainly will do that on our next trip.
This is a superb old historic hotel set in its own amazing grounds. It's not new or modern. The beds are large and soft and the baths deep with piping hot water. Excellent restaurant with extensive wine list. Breakfast substantial.
Luso
This hotel was very convenient for visiting Bussaco Palace and Forest. Just a 30 minute walk, and so much to explore. Miguel and Sandra were excellent hosts - very friendly and helpful. My room had the best shower! Good pressure and hot, and fully adjustable. I had a good view of the chapel and spring. The sun streamed into my room every morning and the weather was perfect. The breakfast was great.
Our stay was perfect. A beautiful hotel with loads of character. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. We also had a lovely terrace, which was a a bonus. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good, a buffet style with the option of cooked eggs and bacon. Good coffee and plenty of it. All serve in a beautiful dinning room.
