Located in the foothills of Serra da Estrela, 11 mi from Viseu, Casa Das Palmeiras is a farm stay where guests can interact with animals and includes a seasonal biological pool and free WiFi. I traveled to this farmstay with my husband and 3.5 year old son. It was a dream from the moment we arrived. Joanna is an amazing host and was very open to us and our son helping her with feeding the animals and involving us with some of the goings on of the farm. We were given fresh bread every morning and the fridge was stocked with the essentials for great breakfasts for our stay. Fresh fruit were plentiful from the fruit trees on the farm. The animals are very well loved and you can tell they are used to being around people that treat them well. The property itself is like stepping back in time and our son had a great time exploring all of the different areas available to us. For adults there are plenty of relaxation areas. I spent an afternoon in a hammock listening to the animals and reading a book. Oh, and there is a garden of aromas, and they are all good ones. The farm had many many honey bees (harmless) in all of the beautiful flower and herb beds around the property which was great to see as well. Joanna was also great about suggesting things to do in the area depending on what we were up for. We spent a day in Viseu on her recommendation and we ran out of time to do much of what she had suggested. I would highly recommend a visit, especially if you have kids that like to interact with nature and animals.

The house was fully equipped, everything was clean and in very good conditions, perfect for a stay with friends and kids. Filipa was very nice, and always in touch. The breakfast was excellent. The own Emilia excellent host the best I every hat at any place I ever stayed. Emilia went out of were way to keep her guests happy. I would recommend this place to any one and I give this place an highly recommendation I love this place and the owners.

There are 5 rooms available with lot of space and acceptable beds, it should be nice for a large family reunion.
