Great location-across the street from the beach and a 5-ish minute walk to the funicular.
Clean and modern. From a walk around town, the hotel seems to be about the best in the area.
Friendly staff.
Good breakfast variety.
Liked how door to the balcony could either be fully opened or tilted open like a window. Wish the US had something like that!

Located less than 328 feet from the beach, Hotel Maré offers rooms with balconies and free Wi-Fi. The breakfast room has panoramic views of the town and Atlantic Ocean.

Location was very good - a stone's throw from the sandy beach, but somewhat away from the busy parts of the waterfront (a couple of blocks from the ascenseur to the upper town). It's a new hotel, and the room was adequate size with all modern amenities. Same with the bathroom. Parking is free, but the garage is about a mile away up the hill, and the paarking spaces are very tight. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and speak good English. Breakfast was only OK - didn't have some of the standard offerings, and we were the second people into the breakfast room and the scrambled eggs were just lukewaarm. But the food was tasty enough.. wifi/internet was strong.
Oceano is a charming beachfront hotel in the center of Nazaré. Guests can watch traditional Portuguese wooden fishing boats floating by on the horizon from Oceano’s restaurant.

The staff were first class, and couldn't have been more helpful.
The room was very good.
The restaurant was excellent for the local fish...
All in all a great stay.

Unique, spacious property with incredible history located in a working class farming town. Gorgeous rooms - we felt we were valued guests in a grand home. Breakfast was served in a converted barn with historic carriage and equipment. Wonderful.

I love the beach and how they made it family friendly, clean. It was one of the best beach towns I had been too. Love the restaurants all over, the little village up on the hill was even more charming or as great-as below. The people in that town were top notch. I hope it doesn’t loose that charm while a ton of people around the world discover it. Dont sell out to the Chinese developers. Your doing just fine.

Nazare is a lovely place to spend a few days.
Nazare is a lovely place to spend a few days. The beach is beautiful and the town is very friendly. We took the funicular up the hill, walked down the other side to the beach to watch the waves. Highest waves in the world during the winter!
Overall a great stay for us and wished we had more days just to relax on the beach and enjoy the restaurants.

We had delicious food in several Nazare restaurants--grilled lulas (squid) is a must try. A ride on the Funicular will take you to the highest point for spectacular views. If you go in Summer, expect large crowds of tourists. After that though, the sea of people thins out and you get a very different Nazare. Don't miss trying out a few of the pastries (Pastel de Natas and Bole de Berlin are my favs), too, from the local bakeries. And don't worry about putting on extra pounds from all that eating, you'll be doing a lot of walking to burn those calories. Try to have dinner where you can watch the sunset--you'll never forget it!

Nazaré is a must if you are into surfing.
Nazaré is a must if you are into surfing. The beaches are clean and there is also plenty of offer sports-wise. You absolutely don't want to miss the fantastic view from the Sitio, or a nice walk along the promenade.
You will have to plan ahead when it comes to eating though: many restaurants close unreasonably early for what is expected from a beach location during Summer. I would strongly suggest seeking accommodation with kitchen facilities and simply cooking your meals.

If you like the typical tourist-environment with crowds of people walking around in their bathing-suits, this may be for you. If not choose another place (may of course be different when visiting out of the high season.

Nazaré is a beautiful city where you could have one/two beach day/s. We saw the biggest waves in the world and the history of surfing 🏄.
It is a small city where you can have walk easily and also easy to find a free car park.
The hotel is located in the best spot! Right in front of the swimming beach in Nazare with a fantastic view over the sea and the cliffs. Most helpful and friendly staff and the lady at reception assisted so that we could access our room earlier than planned. The rooms are beautiful with all the amenities needed. 100% score for cleanliness and comfort. And the breakfast buffet was splendid! I will definitely recommend it.
Nothing - We toured through Portugal for a month and stayed at five locations. Four were wonderful. The fifth (this one) was an absolute disgrace and the owner should act professionally rather than simply take money.
This was without doubt one of the best stays we have had in Portugal. The apartment was very clean indeed and everything was as described. The views from the two varandas were exceptional.
Fantastic location, friendly and easy to work with host, nice place. Was able to get keys early and explore what ended up being one of my favorite Portugal locations.
