This hotel is located within one of the 7 wonders of Portugal, Castelo de Óbidos. It combines 14th century medieval accommodations with modern facilities in the heart of the village of Óbidos. Magical! The little village of Óbidos is a highlight of our time In Portugal. Advice, if you are staying at the castle, drive all the way up to the castle. It doesn’t seem like there will be parking or that the streets are wide enough but there is and they are. The staff was exceptional. Superior breakfasts and setting! Exceptions staff. Perfect in every way!

Obidos did not disappoint. It was authentic and charming, quaint and quirky and I loved it! What I did NOT love were the crowds and CROWDS of people. I realize why they all want to be there and I know it is the main industry of the place, but for me it was hard to take. Hard to really look at anything as you are being herded up the Main Street. I did not go with a tour, because I wanted to be on my own time. I would highly recommend booking a room for a night or two and having a chance to really enjoy the beauty of this place without the hordes. There are MANY guest houses available, and hotels too. That way, once the crowds thin out you can enjoy a stroll and really see it. Also, get off the Main Street and explore the little side streets. Impossible to get lost here.
I loved the scenery and historic buildings (the views from the castle, main Street etc), the food was good and the atmosphere was friendly. The sense of community is great! I'd definitely recommend it to my friends. It's beautiful at night, all illuminated, and is very clean. I remember we ate at 1st dezembro and the wait time was quite long, however that is to be expected with a town that attracts so much tourism. It's nice to walk around but some places may be restricted to the elderly/disabled due to slopes, stairs and general lack of access. We tried to take an Uber to Óbidos but we were unable to, so that might be a detraction for tourists that are unwilling to rent a car/cannot drive. The ATM we went to didn't have money so next time I'd bring more cash. There's nothing I would avoid if I returned here again, other than the sun!
A small, pretty, walled Medieval town on a hill with cobble stone streets and several churches which you can walk all around in 2 hours. Many restaurants there for tourists. Walking the top of the wall gives great views but is a bit scary with no railings. All shops only sell souvenirs or the local cherry liquor so no convenience store for example. Access to the old city is controlled so no cars or taxis. You must walk in through the old walls. We were there during the annual Medieval Festival which was interesting but crowded.
Basic but clean hotel in center of charming Obidos. Do not expect the air condition to be available or work, it’s ancient and in our two rooms they did not work. No elevator in case accessibility is important. Bed was overly firm for us but may be good for others. Generally it’s an ok hotel if you want central location, clean, and are ok without A/C. Shower was good, hairdryer in bathroom.
A fun and completely different type of town to stay in. Had fun walking along the castle walls, shopping for local wares, tasting the local ginja cherry liquor drink in a chocolate cup, and feeling like we had a glimpse into medieval times. Definitely worth a visit for a day or overnight. Tasty dinner at Ladrador and delicious bread for breakfast at Caprinho.
Stayed here for 2 days with my friends. I could have added an extra day but ran out of time. We were very happy with the location and accommodations. Close to everything (restaurants, parking, sites and roads and even the castle). Love to come back some day

Real castle feeling with all the trimmings. Up and down stairs, through passages and rooms complete with suits of armor and period paintings. Other guests congregate in the common spaces allowing shared experiences and recommendations. Breakfast was wonderful. Bedrooms are a little cramped, but clean and comfortable and it's a step back in time with all that goes wi t h it. Torre de Mandy's is a fun place to stay and he owner is very welcoming if you want that medieval feel while you visit Obidos, stay here.
Perfectly situated in Obidos, just beyond the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area. A quick walk takes you to anything you want to see including an access stairs to the city walls (be aware that there are no guardrails and not for the faint of heart) Our room had an pleasant terrace and was quiet and comfortable. The hotel provides a parking pass so you can drive up and drop your bags but, in general, the driving in Obidos is stomach-churning. The staff was very welcoming and helpful
The room was amazing. It wasn't huge, but it was perfect for a couple. There were two balconies within a few steps of our door and the dining room was also only a few steps away. The views were magical. The location was right in the heart of Obidos and a perfect location for exploring the beautiful town. Coming home to our 'castle' after wandering around the town was really fun. Every staff member we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful.
Very helpful and attentive hosts with suggestions on restaurants, walks etc. Modern, spacious and spotlessy clean apartment with everything provided for a comfortable stay. Easy parking outside the door and yet within 5 minutes walking distance of Óbidos Castle walls, restaurants and shops. Good WiFi and multichannel TV, Netflix and Amazon.

My favorite place of our whole stay in Portugal! The location is off the main street and perfect, very quiet. The host, Gabriele, was fantastic and quick on responses and super helpful and kind. The house is adorable and has everything you need. It is charming and fun and we were so happy here. We were lucky to get it for our time in Obidos.

A wonderful location. Guest house is located inside the historical Obidos Castle. The owners were wonderful and made us feel very welcome. Very hard working couple. The Wife said she would miss us because we were like family. We stayed 8 glorious days. Please stay here when you're in the area. WE truly enjoyed being here

It looks like somebody really creative has designed the interiors. Most of the fixtures inside are made of upcycled material. The property is very comfortable and has everything you need for a short or long stay. It's at a walking distance from the castle. If in Obidos, try to book this property. You won't regret it.
The hotel is obviously old but it is surprisingly very well maintained. Despite its age it was extremely clean and in a very good shape. The best breakfast that we had during our 2 weeks road trip in Portugal. Very nice and polite staff. The hotel is just 500m away from the old city. Strongly recommend.

The location inside Obidos old town is unbeatable! Such a quaint guest house right in the heart of the town, comfortable room and bed, nice facilities and pretty outside space!
Great location in the main street of the village with a cool view of the walls of the castle. Staff ok. Very good breakfast. Really enjoyable stay.
Beautiful hotel, located in a beautiful town. Perfect for a romantic stay or even for a family. A must destination in central Portugal.
