This hotel was wonderful, I would absolutely stay here again if I ever return to Sao Jorge. The woman who ran the place was so kind and friendly. She let me check in early (I'm sure it's not always possible) and she gave me restaurant recommendations and told me a bunch of places to go see that were walking distance around town. The room was well decorated, comfortable, and modern. It was great to have a desk. The bed was really comfortable, so if you like beds that are a little soft, this was a good one. The shower was really good. There was a shared kitchen for guests to use, and even though I didn't really use it, it looked good and if I was staying longer, I would've made a few meals. The fridge in the kitchen had individual trays for each room so you could put stuff in there and keep yours separate from everyone else's, that was a nice touch. Overall this was a really fantastic hotel and I would definitely stay here again if I ever get back to Sao Jorge.

i stayed one week at this lovely place and although the weather was not the best, i enjoyed every single day🤗 when i arrived, the owner welcomed me with some special and delicious fruits, i have never seen before and one day i got a private tour through the whole fruit garden which is very huge not only around the house, there is also a big plantation in the hills nearby and there are a lot more fruits of all kinds with mainly origin from brazil there is also a minimarket nearby and with the car you can explore this special island with its very dramatic and narrow streets and breathtaking villages on the coastline...

Everything was perfect, a beautiful house, with a view to Pico mountain, decorated with ceramics that Antonio makes in his workshop and flowers. Really enjoyed our stay there, would recommend it to anyone coming to Velas.

Excellent apartment, well-equipped and easy to find on Google Maps. The apartment is a duplex-style with sleeping one unit for two in the basement and one on the first floor - both also with separate bathrooms. The kitchen and the living room are on the first floor for all. There was all the necessary kitchen equipment, and a large living room. Very silent place to stay, despite the airport's landing corridor above the house. The planes are not disturbing at all - four of them per day at most if they succeed in arriving as scheduled. General information not connected with the apartment: be aware that your flight can be easily cancelled or delayed by up to half a day due to weather conditions.

Any contact with the owner was very easy, and the owner was always very kind and helpful. Even before our arrival, the owner sent us valuable information on excursions, restaurants, and beaches. We were able to retrieve the key ourselves from a key safe, so we weren't tied to a specific arrival time. Upon our arrival, there was even a small snack prepared for us. During our stay, our written questions were answered very quickly, and when we needed something in the house, someone came by within fifteen minutes to organize and take care of it. The house was very clean, and we found everything we needed for our daily needs. The house is located a bit outside the village, making it a very quiet location. My fear that we might hear the airport was completely unfounded. We could even hear the strange calls of the Cagarros directly from the house—and we almost died laughing on the first evening! In the late afternoons we could sit on the terrace and had a wonderful view of the sea and of "Ilha do Pico".

This accommodation is one of many reasons why I am looking forward to coming back to São Jorge. We could see that it was important to Jorge to present the place in a good light and it was indeed a very pleasant experience to be there. Everything was great and I have no regrets about choosing Cabanas da Viscondessa for our stay.

Beautiful ocean view. Big quiet rooms.

Beautiful ocean view. Big quiet rooms. Nice leisure area in front of the apartment. Friendly staff. Breakfast was very poor. The coffee was not drinkable. The juice came from the machine and had an unnatural taste. And they charged extra money for the breakfast. It wasn't worth it. Inside pool definitely needs an update. Outside pool was very nice.
