We loved our stay in the 1 bedroom apartment at A Casa Brava. We were there for 6 nights. It was in a great location for us to venture out on day trips around Central Portugal. We had rented a car so easy to get around. It was so wonderful to come back each night to what felt like home. It was clean, comfortable and a very calm, peaceful atmospere. We would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to stay in the area and we would definitely book again for future trips! Thank you, Rute! You have created an amazing space for your guests.

The room with the stunning panoramic view was clean and comfortable. The food downstairs was very good and reasonably priced. Parking was easy and accessible. The center of town was a good 25 minute walk so we drove and parked in the central underground parking lot. Easy. Nice shops and the Porto del Sol is a beautiful park with another stunning view.

Santarem is a small city north of Lisbon which is non touristy with a small but pleasant old town with a maze of narrow streets and old churches. the city park the Portas de Sol is a wonderful place to relax in the shade. It is within the old fortifications on a high ridge with stunning views of the Tejo river below. The city has good traditional restaurants which are popular and cheap but close by 10pm. City is a good base for surrounding region and has good transport links in all directions.Lisbon is less than an hour by train and Evora is ninety minutes by bus.

It's not the first city that comes to your mind when you visit Portugal but it's a good option of you'd like to be in a quite city but with still enough things to do: lots of historic and cultural spots, amazing food and very nice people.
