It's a perfect place to spend holidays. All the Colombo Hotel Staff, they are very friendly and they were always ready to help me. They provided me an excellent airport transfer service. All the Colombo Hotel is always sparkling clean and the Azorean breakfast was delicious. Thanks so much Colombo Hotel.

Bazı odalar deniz veya havuz... the staff is fantastic, the room is quiet, in good shape and has a wonderful view, the food in mesa d'oito is really tasty, the tuna steak is the best I ever ate(expect the tuna steak last year in the same restaurant)

Room with private bathroom BUT electric kettle in the room and microwave + fridge just outside. Host picked me up from the airport (no buses on Sundays) and later took me all around the island. Good communication prior to arrival. Speak English too. Top marks all round for this place.

We had an excellent stay in Vila do Porto. The apartment is right in the center of town but is very quiet. It's super clean and comfortable and has actual spices and stuff to cook with along with all the necessary equipment to cook. All the appliances are straightforward to use. Wifi is excellent! Parking is in the little parking lot right next door so you're off the street (which is important with such narrow streets.) Maria Helena is super helpful and having lived in Canada for a number of years she's got great English skills as well. Bed is good and bathroom was spotless. You won't have heating (like all the places we've stayed in so far in the Azores and Madeira) but she's got a heater and a dehumidifier which you'll also appreciate. There's a grocery nearby as well. We would definitely stay here again.

The attention to detail in this house was incredible. Santa Maria island is so underrated - there is so much to do and see. The host, Luis, was available with many hints and tips about the island but also happy to leave you to your own devices. He has managed to achieve a modern, eco home that still feels cosy and comfortable. Very useful local produce was left as a welcome pack and fresh bread brought in regularly. This place is great for totally relaxing with the sound of the ocean on your doorstep but also as much walking, water activities, touring as you feel like doing. An absolutely wonderful place to stay - we will return!
