Simiriam Apuseni, Padis has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Padis. The lodge offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer, free toiletries and shower.... Our hosts were really welcoming. We were treated more as friends of the family rather than guests in a hotel. The meals were varied and really well cooked and we were able to take excess breakfast for our packed lunch.
La 5 casute has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Padis. At the lodge guests are welcome to use a hot tub. La 5 casute has a terrace. It was our second booking at La 5 Casute this time. Our opinion is still the same, perfect!
Located in Padis in the Bihor region, Cabana MonteRio has accommodations with free private parking. Some units have a balcony and/or terrace. Nice location, in the middle of nature, close to waterfalls and other areas to be sightseen. Owner is very sociable, pleasant.
Located in Padis, Popas Turistic Padis has a restaurant, bar, shared lounge, and free WiFi. All rooms have a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom. Very clean rooms and very nice owner. Perfect food after hiking. Very nice surrounding, perfect location to go to hiking around. I would go back again, for sure.
Pension Cabana Cetatile Ponorului is a 5-minute walk from Ponor Fortress and enjoys quiet surroundings in Pietroasa. The property’s restaurant serves traditional Romanian dishes. Fantastic location, you can just walk out the door and start your hikes. Diner at night was one of the best we had in Romania and the pension so cozy.
Located in Pietroasa, Pensiunea ozon features a bar, garden and terrace. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. It was the closest available accommodation to the place i wanted to visit, Glavoi and Padis in Apuseni Natural Park. The location is nice.
Pensiunea Piatra Graitoare features a restaurant, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Vartop. There's a terrace and guests can use free WiFi and free private parking. The owners are very nice people and eager to give information about interesting places to visit. They even organize trips if you are interested in joining, but don't mind if you decide to do your own thing. The food was great every day and served alongside the normal desert or the special desert (palinca, afinata, tuica). We went for the special desert each time and didn't regret it. There are lots of hiking sites available within reasonable driving distance and there are several which start right near the cabin.
The location absolutely amazing, clean air, lot of trees, we could see the traditional occupations of local people. We made excellent walks in the wood and on the mountain. The region is amazing rich in karstik natural monuments. We enjoyed the local food and tasted bio local products. The acces from north is very bad, but the road from Pietroasa is excellent
Fairly small place with several bed-and-breakfast facilities all offering similar accommodations at 3 star level. Not a soul walking outside before 8am (breakfast time), fresh air and fairly quiet all day long. Excellent position in the middle of most interest points in the area (Muntii Apuseni), ideal place to set base for one liking to walk trails. Buy yourself a good map at lowest available scale, most places in Padis or Glavoi have few choices to offer. Several natural caves can be explored with proper equipment, one should at least have a good headlamp handy. There was some ABC type store never opened during our stay, stocked with bags of chips and not much else as we peered through the window, I was able to buy from the resorts bottled water and soft drinks, chocolate, chips and cookies, no fruits and vegetables at all anywhere, thus bring your own. Mobile signal intermittent/unreliable with my "moto g6" phone oscillating between one line and none, missed few calls while there, but working fine on most trails. Transportation to and back to civilizations can be difficult if you don't have your own. June tends to be on the rainy side but I like it for finding the most pristine nature and clean trails washed by the winter snow, September is considered the best by many others for fair weather.
Nice village in the wilderness. I recommend to find accommodation near Glavoi instead of Padis. We visited this place in Easter and mostly all of the wild roads were covered with ice and snow. If you are planning to visit "Fortress of Ponor" (Csodavár) or Avenul Negro (Elveszett világ) in this season then take some serious equipment with you because somewhere the snow was more than half meter deep.
I recommend Padis area all year round. Of course you get the best out of it in the spring / summer / early autumn by bike or foot. The forests are incredible and the wilderness if everywhere (not harm-full). I go here every time I can, alone, with friends or with family.
It was our second booking at La 5 Casute this time. Our opinion is still the same, perfect!
everything was on spot, clean, beautiful view from the balcony.
