The village if beautiful and quiet (not so many tourists and very few cars driving through). You can even see stork nests on the school's chimney next to the main church. It is close to via Transilvanica hiking routes. The road to get to Richis is a little bit hard because it has very sharp curves. Except of Villa Rihuini, there are not really other options where to eat something traditional (in Richis)

Richis is a little remote village close to Biertan. It was easy to find. The house is on a parallel road to the main road that goes from Saros towards Agnita. Biertan was not far. I visited the fortified church with a bike, which the owners rented to me for less than 10 bugs a day. It was a beautiful ride (15-20 min). There were only a few cars on the road, so biking is definitely an option in the region. On the European road, I would not recommend biking because of the heavy traffic. But around the village it was great. I had once dinner in Biertan at Unglerus, which is directly below the fortified church. The food was OK. But better take the car and drive the 15min to Dumbraveni. Here is the "BAUM" Restaurant, which is far better from my point of view. They offer a great selection of international foods for a good price. Richis itself has no restaurant, but since you have a well-equipped kitchen, it is totally fine. In the small shop which is really close to the apartment, you can buy the basic stuff. If you need to do bigger shoppings, Dumbraveni has a small Supermarket. If you stay for a longer period, make sure you do the shopping in the city. Drinks you can buy in the village and at the property. But for bigger Shoppings, I recommend Medias or Sighisoara, where you find LIIDL, Penny, and Kaufland. The owners are not always there during the day, so basically, you have the yard completely for yourself. It is great to sit and chill out on the big terrasse in the garden. They have hammocks and a barbecue place that I could use free of charge. I think the place is great for single travelers and for couples that search for silence. I enjoyed the jam sessions with Michael, who is a really talented musician. I will be back next year. All the best. Tom
