Hotel in Cerf Island
Featuring an outdoor swimming pool and a garden, L’Habitation offers rooms on the beachfront of Cerf Island. Some rooms have an equipped terrace with views over the sea. Comming during Covid from Germany, I had to go the first 6 days in quarantine. I did a lot of research to figure out what hotel offers most options to also enjoy time during the quarantine. To chose that hotel on cerf island was the best decision I could have made. They organize everything for you, the pick up with a taxi from the airport as well as the following boat drive to Cerf island. I could even ckeck in 4 hours earlier and received a nice welcome drink. The staff was undescribingly friendly and always helpful, even getting me coconuts from the palm tree or tomato juice from Mahe as I wanted a bloody Mary (not common in the seychelles). There are no stores at the island but the stuff brings you everything you might want with the boat from Mahe. I was staying in the Hibiscus Lodge, which was a separate Bungalow. ...perfect location, quite, near to the beach and best was the terasse I had right in front with a table/chairs and a sofa. Cerf island is a small island next to Mahe with a beautiful long beach and no traffic or cars. Also me travelling alone as a woman, I felt incredibly save even at night. Watching my stuff at the beach was not a thing to think about. That savety feeeling changed a bit when I got to Praslin. The food was very delicious at the hotel restaurant with huge portions and a very fair price. Quarantine : My quarantine stay there did not feel like a quarantine AT ALL, as you have way more possibilities of going outside the hotel than in Mahe. You can sit on your terasse, go to the entire beach (ca. 15-20 min walk from one side to the other), Snorkel, Kajak and even hike on a super nice trail or use the Pool if no "out of quarantine guest are in". I highly recommend the hotel for quarantine. After quarantine to can kajak to some amall islands and to moyenne, a national park with huge turtles that you can pet :)

Cerf Island
Located along a sandy beach, Cerf Island Resort is located just off the coast of Mahe Island. It offers a spa, outdoor swimming pool and panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. Stunning location overlooking the bay. Private beach was gorgeous that we had to ourselves most of the time. Pool area was lovely too. Rooms had everything you needed - we were super lucky and had a full sea view. Literally the rooms/suites are nestled in the trees and our balcony had a direct view of the ocean. Food was great too. Breakfast had a good selection, we had 5 and didnt get tired of it. Lunch was al a carte, again had 5 lunches and they were mixed and varied. Dinner was great too - you choose a starter, main and desert at breakfast/lunch (from two-three options for each) which varied everyday and we didnt get bored of the menu. If you stayed here for more than 7nights I could see it being repetative. All the staff were fantastic and very accomodating. The free equipment was used but functional, no complaints here.

Beautiful small island - not overcrowded. You can live here in relative quiet and enjoy nature. Snorkelling paradise - several places with beautiful corals around the cost - easily accessible from the beach, do not need a boat. Beautiful corals and lot of fish. Possibility to borrow kayaks and explore the area between several small islands Marine Park Reserve consists of.
Unless you are energetic, it is not easy to explore the island itself. But there are walks you can take although very humid so needs to be done very early in the morning. Kayaking is very popular. Snorkling is not fantastic. A perfect place to be laid back and just relax.
Small island which is not busy. Pretty good snorkelling and possibility for a small hiking tour of about 2h. Very nice forest and a great view from the top of the 'mountain'. A few planes do fly over the island making it noisy for a few seconds but not very deranging. Not possible to walk around the island.
I was staying on Cerf Island with my girl-friend Vanessa for 3 days in December 2016. From the beginning on the staff was very nice and helpful in all matters. We did really like the freshly prepared local food. International kitchen was offered as well. All the food was very fresh (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The dinner menu was always a new composition and each time fantastic. Different fresh smoothies (of the day) where available. Cerf Island Resort is a really nice composition of villas situated on the hill. The villas are cozy and comfortable. Everything fits together very well and makes a common look and feel. We felt as we where in our own home. Outdoor shower was fantastic as well. Also the pool is very clean and offers a great view on the ocean. A nice Snorkeling-Trail is directly in front of the hotel. We could observe lots of fishes (including Lemon-Sharks and Sting Rays). Canoes and other boats are available for everybody. We where staying in Cerf Island Resort at the end of our holiday. The flight back to Switzerland departed at 11:40 pm. The staff offered us to keep our room for the whole day without any extra charge. This gave us definitely one more holiday on the Seychelles and a relaxed leaving. Many Thanks for That! Furthermore a boat transfer back to Mahe including a follow-up taxi was organised for us. Great Service, Great Place, Full Recommendation from us!
The island is peaceful and you have privacy. Transport is difficult, no roads. You have to go by boat. I ate at l'habitacion - they only serve dinner from 19.30 onward. Food was ok. Next time I would try Cerf Island Resort for dinner.
It is very quiet and relaxing but for some might feel a bit isolated as there is literally nothing there but you and your villa. Depending what you are expecting from your holidays Cerf can definitely let you relax and have a rest. On the negative side it depends on the tides if you can leave the hotel.
