The property was beautifully located by the woods and close to a lake. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Also very knowledgeable about the history of the place and the area. We went down to the lake for a swim and used the wood burning sauna. There were also canoes and rowing boats for all the guests to use. My daughter enjoyed the hobby horses and I saw others making use of the croquet set and the bikes. We have decided to go back next year and stay for more than one night in order to make the most of the facilities 😊

We were very happy. Both with the service and the facilities. There are a total of 3 rooms, sharing a communal kitchen and one bathroom. Our 2 rooms 3 and 1 had 4 and 3 beds. Room 2 I estimate has 3 beds. The kitchen is fully appointed with appliances and cutlery. We may have been lucky but there was even some coffee! There is a Ica store 3 minutes away by car where we bought breakfast. There is a playground outside for kids and electric car charging that worked simply by credit card. The TV works. Unlike earlier comments, it was clean. Guests are expected to clean after themselves so maybe they should institute a penalty to pay for guests who do not clean. That being said when we arrived it was as clean as can be. The beds where comfortable. Standard ikea beds mixed with bunk beds. My wife said she heard the person in the next room snoring. I did not. If this is a concern bring earplugs. Considering the price, which is extremely reasonable, this is a highly recommendable stay.

Great location for travellers to stay and interact - a feeling of a hostel but with impecable cleanliness and well maintained facilities. The owner Markus was very responsive and accommodating in communication which is always a pleasant bonus! Virserum is not a cultural metropolis, but all the necessary amenities (supermarket, pharmacy, a couple of food joints, and a lake for an evening promenade) are all just 5 min on foot from the hostel.
