In green surroundings, right by Lake Talvatis, this Lapland hotel is just an 8 minute walk from Jokkmokk Train Station. It offers regional cuisine and free Wi-Fi, gym and sauna access. Everything. Food was amazing! After 14 days trekking in Sarek the best we could do was to eat there!
Located in central Jokkmokk, this hotel offers individually decorated rooms with a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi access. Jokkmokk Bus Station is 853 feet away. Parking is free on site. Diner was included on certain days and tasted very good. The dining room with the fireplace is very nice! They also have a sauna that you can book for yourself/your own group.
Peace & Quiet Hotel is located in Jokkmokk and features a terrace. This 5-star hotel offers ski-to-door access, a tour desk and free WiFi. Loved this. Folks, please pay attention to the staff's suggestion for being lightly packed! There is a short walk through some of the woods with some light bushwacking involved, avoid bringing your heaviest suitcases!
Located in Jokkmokk in the Norrbotten region, Skabram Camping & Stugby provides accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. Nothing at all fancy, but highly functional, comfortable accommodations. Everything in working order and very clean. Friendly, helpful owners. Excellent value in rustic Lappland.
Midnight sun panorama boat is located in Jokkmokk and offers a garden, water sports facilities and a terrace. This beachfront property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. Located in a secluded area of the river, this is a great place to stay the night and enjoy the views from on the boat.
Featuring a sauna, Arctic Colors Northern Lights Apartments is set in Porjus. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The apartment has anything you need for a comfortable staying but the big advance is the view. You can see the northern lights from your bed and the lake is right out of your window.
Museum did not have many explanations of exhibits in English Handouts didn't seem to offer any help either We are not into hiking, average walks are fine for us, and it is not skiing season yet We found very little to do Didn't spend much time exploring the local Sami handicrafts, quality was poor
Jokkmokk is one of the most special places I have been to. It is located just after the arctic circle, and has the midnight sun in summer. It is a very beautiful town, the lake is exceptionally beautiful and can be hiked around in a few routes. The Sami museum is an excellent, beatiful museum which provides a lot of information about the Sami culture and history. The botanic garden is also beautiful and informative. Everything in Jokkmokk is beautiful and everyone is nice, and it's a great pleasure just to walk around it.
Jokkmokk is situated just north of the Arctic Circle, and is rather a small town in a sparsely populated area. It is certainly pleasant enough, and has the air of cleanliness and prosperity. The museum is certainly worth a visit, and concentrates on the Sami/Lapp culture of the area. Be prepared to spend at least a couple of hours there. The countryside around is beautiful, low-lying, and with a large-ish river and a number of lakes.
This hotel was great, but your reviews are too long. Too many questions. I want to give this place a good review, bur it goes on snd on. People don't have time for all this stuff. It is repetitive. Make it simple or people won't participate.
We used Jokkmokk as a base for northern lights viewing. The surrounding areas are dark enough to see the northern lights and the beautiful shades of blues and pinks in the sky during the day makes this place really magical. We did a lot of driving in the area towards Porjus, Kiruna and the Ice Hotel which is fantastic. The area we stayed in was lovely and quiet and there are loads of tours to be done in the area - husky rides, snow mobiles etc. What I liked about Porjus is that it is inside the Arctic Circle but south enough that you get much more day light compared to places such as Kiruna or Tromso.
This is not a Hotel. This is a comfortable tent or iglu on the surface of a lake. There is no receprion, no bar, no restaurant at all. You receive some breakfast (yoghurt, pancakes, jam). The tent has a toilet and kitchen but not a bathroom so one can not take a shower. The lake is quite freezy in August to take a bath there. But if You like the remote places with some comfort and acknowledge these discomforts you will enjoy your staying there.
Newly updated hotel with nice contemporary furniture. The price included not only breakfast but also an evening buffet, because most other places in town are closed in winter.
We will definitely come back here if we need to stay in Jokkmokk someday ! The owners were really nice and the place is very beautiful. Our son loved the goats !
The restaurant is super good for both breakfast and dinner. Staff was super nice also. The hotel is located in front of a lake and the view is very beautiful.
