Nice little town within walking distance to most things.

Nice little town within walking distance to most things. Really recommend the city museum. Many exciting exhibitions, friendly staff and also free. Bring the kids. The cathedral is worth a visit and don't miss the fantastic stained glass windows. The city library which is right next door is also a beautiful building with, among other things, good tourist information.

Skara has a beautiful cathedral, which is Sweden's oldest, a beautiful town hall and lovely green areas centrally located with several museums, including an open-air museum. Unfortunately, the town, which is otherwise old, has been hit by many fires, so there is not much of the old town left.

A positive surprise!

A positive surprise! Cozy town with old wooden houses and a quiet city center. Many places to eat and a plus because you didn't see the big standard chain stores. Nice to stroll around. Take a guided tour of the cathedral and visit the Västergötland Museum. Will definitely return.

Fantastically nice in the center with all the detailed buildings. Great with a sports area called Vilan, where everything is gathered like the ice rink, swimming pool, running track, sports halls, football fields, etc. Convenient with service like 2 manned gas stations, McDonalds and big Christmas. Easy to find in Skara, easy to get in and out. Good bus service too.

Good as a City Hotel (I am a former hotelier from the Sarakedjan chain and know what to expect). A strong plus is the art, with sculptures and a variety of fine watercolors by Lars Lerin, which gave the feeling of a gallery/museum, without taking over.

Beautiful and beautifully situated city with a strong influence of the large medieval cathedral. The city has everything you need: culture, art, entertainment, cafes and restaurants. There are good opportunities for shopping for groceries. It is easy to get around the city center. There are good parking options.

I've been many times in that beautiful place. Totally amazing and comfortable hotel. Different, not modern. With a magic. The most amazing stuff, every person is so nice and helpful. The food in restaurant is so delicious and i can taste every time when I'm there.

This hotel is very special because of its permanent art exhibition with originals of the Swedish painter Zorn and even wallpaper motifs in the rooms. But that's not all : the staff is very friendly and professional and the breakfast is excellent !

In relation to the price that I paid this hotel was really excellent. It is a simple hotel with not frills. However, it is clean, there is a kitchen where you can prepare your own meal and the staff was very friendly.
