The Villa Stare house is huge and comfortable. The area around the house is breathtakingly beautiful. It's close to Slap Savica, and great for hikers or people who want to be close to the lake. The proprietor of the hotel is very pleasant. It was nice to have the convenience of breakfast, yet the ability to be independent, as if we were in our own home. Breakfast was plentiful, and the lady who served it was very accommodating and kind. Lake Bohinj is, on the whole, a wonderful place to visit. Because it was the off season, we pretty much had the area to ourselves. A lot of facilities are closed in the late fall, but there are also no crowds. The fall foliage makes for a stunning backdrop against the rugged beauty of the Julian Alps. I wish we'd had one more day to hike to the Mostnica Gorge, since we had some rain during our stay. But now we have a reason to visit again! There was plenty of parking for us, although that might be because few people are visiting Lake Bohinj at this time of year. Those who come in the late fall might want to be prepared for the lack of facilities that are open. Lake Bled isn't too far away, and has more year round tourists, so some restaurants are open there.

EVERYTHING!! This chalet deep in the mountain valley of Lake Bohinj is like finding a rare gemstone that is one of a kind. It is truly like being in Fairytale. The location, the amenities, the comfort, the attention to every little detail is outstanding in every respect. We have nothing but admiration for the dedication to quality and the theme of this lovely place. We feel fortunate to have stayed here and have promised each other a return visit when we don't get the rain. This place feels like we belong and are extremely happy with our visit here.

The house is next to a wild river and located privately and calm. You have a big wooden terrace and a balcony with a view on the river. It is outstanding. The house is well equipped and very cosy. The bathroom is modern and you have your own sauna. In the kitchen is all you need. The living room has fire place and there is enough wood you can use. The staff was very friendly and we loved to stay there!

Breakfast was delicious with a good selection. It was always a pleasure to eat lunch or dinner too. The location was lovely and useful for attending events during the International Wild Flower Festival, excellent for public transport and for local walks. The staff were so conscientious that they predicted all our needs and provided lots of information.

Great view from the room, exceptionally good breakfast (also with a great view towards the lake), friendly staff, perfect location close to Lake Bohinj, very good restaurant in the house and good restaurants in walking distance. Good to reach also with public transport, including free bus services around the area (e.g. to Ukanc, Bohinska Bistrica).

We asked Jaka if we could make fire outside and he made the fire for us. He was our source of information. He even gave us some biscuits he baked himself. Really well thought comfy and warm apartment. Excellent 10 out of 10!

We spent some great time here! Everything was good: the location is a bit off the route but very well accessible with car, free parking, good breakfasts, nice views. Kudos go to the staff, who made the experience perfect!

Breakfast was very good, very good location, possibility to buy dinner, we had very good grilled fish. Very close to the lake and very helpful and friendly owner. We will be back :-)

Cozy hotel with a great location. The restaurant was delicious, an unexpected treat! And a very generous breakfast. The staff was very welcoming. Would definitely recommend it.

Rooms are all refurbished and clean. Service and breakfast was excellent. Restaurant downstairs has delicious food for dinner, local food, game and large woodfired Pizzas.
