We enjoyed our stay at Grand Hotel Bernardin. Great view from the balcony and comfortable room and bathroom. Breakfast was superb (variety and quality of buffet). Beach right in front of the hotel with free lounge chairs and sun umbrellas. There was no issue with finding space on the beach. Since it was pretty hot during our stay we used indoor swimming pools with salt water in a nearby sister hotel (Histrion). Plenty of good restaurants within easy walking distance. Piran is a nearby town with nice restaurants, architecture and can be reached by a free shuttle bus service near the hotel.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were impressed by the palm trees and manicured bushes. The lovely lady accommodated us in a premium room at the reception. The repce hall was minimalisticly equipped and yet tasteful. Upon entering our room, you will be surprised by the pleasant scent of lavender. Premium rooms are in Scandinavian style - spacious living room with TV, spacious bedroom with TV, large bathroom and 2 large terraces. Everything beautifully clean and tidy. Regular replacement of towels and trash bags. What I would definitely praise the hotel for were breakfast and dinner in the form of a "buffet" - fish, beef, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetables, several types of pasta, local cuisine. We were really taken care of fabulously and at an unbeatable price!

We were very pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The size of the room for 2 adults and 2 children was excellent, the facilities within the room were an added bonus! Coffee machine, mini bar, amenities, wonderful balcony very comfortable beds with choice of pillows. Very clean bathroom and outside pool area. Great choice of food and very pleasant service from all staff. Although we didn't use the spa we took a look and it seemed beautiful. The atmosphere all around was very positive. Location was also perfect, over the road from the sea, close enough to walk to the busier parts but far enough away to still remain peaceful.

Portorož is the most popular beach resort on Slovenia’s small but undulating coastline. It was first developed as a health resort and several spas remain. The largest is the Terme & Wellness LifeClass Portorož, offering treatments using local products such as salt pan mud, seawater and thermal mineral water.
The huge complex is surrounded by some of the 4 and 5-star hotels available on Booking.com. Nearby is the Hotel Kempinski Palace, a historic property built in 1910 as a retreat for Austro-Hungarian officials. Other Portorož accommodation options include guest houses with pools and beachfront apartments.
The beaches are of course why most people come. The main, sandy beach is awash with colourful parasols in summer, while offshore watersports include diving and water skiing. Boat trips from the marina sail along the coast and even to Venice and Trieste in Italy.
As the temperature cools down, the nightlife heats up as people start hitting the bars and clubs. Several casinos also provide another way to spend some time…and money, and there are also relaxed restaurants where you can enjoy the sunset.
Portorož Airport is just south of the city and in the opposite direction is Piran whose Venetian old town spread over a promontory provides a more cultural offering.
A very bad experience, from everything that can be said about a hotel that does not respect itself. We booked a Mosim room, paid in advance and received "another product", Although there was a lack of reference, and the answer was "Sorry. Although you did not receive the room you paid for and booked a month ago, The hotel is full and you are welcome to stay in the room even though it is bad and not suitable for the reservation. Unprofessionalism, indifference and disdain even though they realized they were wrong, And they didn't try to solve the problem they had. We paid full price, and we did not receive the product (a room that did not match our wishes and conditions) and we did not even receive a refund for the difference between the room we ordered and the room we received.
A beautiful resort- we went in September. An unknown gem to British tourists. I imagine too crowded in main summer months. The area is stunning- short bus ride to Piran- which is beautiful and interesting. Swimming in the Adriatic is wonderful.
beautiful and vibrant riviera with a charming atmosphere. Lots of shops and great restaurants. Unfortunately, though, you have to pay for parking (1,5 EUR per hour until 22:00), for this I highly recommend the EasyPark app, which made this duty much easier for me. As for the beaches, here I was slightly disappointed. There are only city beaches which are not great, or stone beaches under big cliffs. All in all, you have to search and drive around. We ended up going to Fiesa Beach near Piran, which was relatively pleasant to sit on and the snorkeling was not boring. For example, I even saw a squid here, which I hadn't seen before in Bali.
The beach consists of contrete, with some areas of lawn. There is no old part of town, nothing historical. Don't go there, find yourself a place to stay in Piran or Izola. Else, stay in Portoroz in a quiet place, and take the bus (often for free) from Portoroz to Piran. Do NOT use your car to visit Piran or Izola, no parking, no entrance permission with car.
As you can read it on the internet, there is nothing to see/visit in Portoroz. It has a beach full of concrete and thanks to that the water is dirty. Along the beach full of restraurant. Even though we found a brilliant sea food restaurant, which is highly recommended 10/10: Fritolin, gostinstvo, d.o.o. There is a bus, which takes you easily to Piran.
Portoroz was in June when we were there still relatively empty with tourists. Even though it will be packed with tourists in July and August we consider it to be a pleasant village for a stay. Its main attraction is the Adriatic sea in which you can swim from a very lengthy boulevard along the sea. If you don't like swimming, there is little reason to visit Portoroz. Food is not cheap and also not very good.
