The property was beautiful with flower gardens, herbal garden and vegetable gardens, plus musical instruments for additional interest/decorating. The hospitality was more than expected as Veronica and Maya were so eager to please, their interest in our comfort and happiness was sincere. Breakfast were incredible as Veronica made the juices, cheese, many meats and always offered something hot and home made. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed 5 days and were sorry to leave. Our hosts even set up our COVID test before returning to the US. If you like quiet, easy access to surrounding sites, this place is where you want to be.

Solcava region offers many options for nature lovers. There are plenty of mountain trails, friendly local places to stay or eat, tourist farms with amazing products and of course those 3 parallel valleys which have breathtaking views. Take the Panoramic Road, you wont’t forget it, it’s so amazing.

The location is perfect for everyone who wants to discover a peaceful nature with great local people and still not so many tourists. The Logar valley, Robanov Kot and Matkov Kot including the panoramatic trail, Velka Planina are one of the most beautiful places we have seen not only in Slovenian but also in Austrian or Bavarian Alps. One definitely has to try the local cuisine. Ljubljana is just about 1 hour from there.

Mountains are beautiful in winter and we could drive into all the mountains to get a close view of them. Usually most countries with mountains does not allow cars into the national park. Treks were also well marked for easy trekking despite the cold weather and snow. All the Slovenians we met in restaurants, supermarkets or in the tourist information center were friendly and helpful. Slovenia is also a very clean and safe country. Driving during winter was easy with winter tyres and rental of car with Budget was easy too. No hidden fees.
