U Toffee is a super beautiful home! It is very spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable, 2 full baths and a great shower, and the kitchen is fully equipped. The location is very close (a few minutes drive) to the castles. The owners are wonderful and available if one needs any information and they are fluent in English, if that is a concern. We wish we could have stayed longer as it just felt like home!

One of the very few monuments is the Humenné Castle, which was surprisingly closed over the weekend. It is only open on regular weekdays, Tuesday-Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. I assume that tourists come to see Humenné mainly on holidays....

There is beautiful nature all around.

There is beautiful nature all around. This time I had some time left, so I also visited the manor house in Humenne, which I really liked. I only visited the hotel restaurant Alibaba, I did not use public transport, everything is close by. It is a pity that I did not have time to visit the military cemeteries.

Currently, a river railway is under construction and...

Currently, a river railway is under construction and buildings are being built around the hotel. Both events do not contribute to the overall beauty of the city. On the contrary, the city center is fantastic for walking. There are a sufficient number of restaurants and outdoor seating in the city. It is possible to visit the local chateau, calvary and open-air museum. However, to our surprise, everything was closed.

In Humenné there is a beautiful, newly renovated manor house...

In Humenné there is a beautiful, newly renovated manor house with a very nice, historical interior, next to it there is also an open-air museum with wooden houses and a church, on the other side there is a Gothic church. Opposite the manor house there is a pedestrian zone with a park. Not far from the town are the ruins of the castles of Brekov and Jasenov.

We recommend visiting the local castle - a nice tour and also the adjacent open-air museum. There are several picturesque castle ruins and beautiful nature in the area. And we also liked the restaurant and brewery U Medvěda. :-) Many types of beer to taste :-)

Humenné is a great starting point for exploring Vihorlat,...

Humenné is a great starting point for exploring Vihorlat, Poloniny and other places in eastern Slovakia. From the nearest area, I recommend Jasenovský Castle with a beautiful view and the Snínské Ponds for swimming.

Very nice hotel. Stayed one night on the road in between driving to other locations. The hotel is modern, easy to find. The room is spacious, has everything new and nice bed. There’s restaurant downstairs.Even though the train station is nearby I didn’t hear any trains. Recommend to everyone.

It is a very modern hotel in the center of the city, with very, very friendly staff and a great breakfast—spacious double room with very comfortable bed and bathtub. Parking is free in front of the hotel entrance. Close to the city center, train or bus station.

The hotel had well done restaurant for cheap price. It was the cheapest in price hotel around and for that price I would very much recommend it. Also it was very close to the train station so if you are not travelling by car, you will apreciate that.

The hotel was 5 mins walk from Humenne railway station. The staff were helpful and friendly. The WiFi worked well. Plenty of power points. The shower was nice. Breakfast was good. I would use again
