Located in Principe, Principe Residencial is 10 miles from Obo National Park. This little motel is just outside of the city center but one can easily walk there. It's in a quiet area. Rooms are confy and clean. Good wifi. TV on the wall. Friedge. Sometimes you run out of electricity and consequently out of water but that's normal in Principe. Nevertheless, they have their one power generator for these situations. Fernando and Ana do a great job in keeping everyting tidy and they are good with tips as well. Breakfast is nice also.

Located in Santo António, 9.4 miles from Obo National Park, Residencial Brigada has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. This 3-star hotel offers a bar. Super nice little property in the city of Santo António. Carlos’s reception and assistance in arranging a motorcycle was amazing. Breakfast was varied every day with fresh fruit, juices, eggs, bacon was a lovely start to every morning. Carlos arranged a beautiful crab appetizer during the football match and we opted for dinner at the property twice which was delicious and filling both nights. Super grateful! obrigada por tudo!
Located in Santo António, 9.1 miles from Obo National Park, Residencial Mira Rio has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. One of a few good accommodation options for indipendent travelers, if not the best. The location is the best for any trip around island. Again - I see it by eye of independent traveler: clean and safe room, good breakfast, very good dinner, possibility to hire car (Jimmy), plenty of mototaxi to take you anywhere. Actually the Residencial Mira Rio is a hub for other people, guides, etc... We enjoyed river and nature views from teracce and we think that was the best choice we could make. If you are looking for luxury - pick some of upscale resorts around the Principe. Mira Rio is reasonable budget friendly (considering Principe high prices for everyting). Laslt but not the least: the personnel is very nice and helpful and organizes a complimentary (free) airport pick-up and drop-off!
Located 5.4 miles from Obo National Park, Roça do Lucindo is in Santo António and has a garden and barbecue facilities. Lucindo and his wonderful family made me feel welcome and safe. The chalet is really lovely, and the location is magical; completely surrounded by a rainforest and 15 minutes walk away from a beautiful, quiet beach. I loved every moment of my stay at Roca do Lucindo. Highly recommended.
With garden views, Hotel Roça Sundy is located in Santo António and has a restaurant, free shuttle service, bar, garden and terrace. Complimentary WiFi is featured. This is simply an amazing place. The rooms are great, the service is excellent. The location is superb and the food is great.
Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Sundy Praia Lodge offers accommodations in Santo António. everything was beyond perfect, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and they did everything to make my state amazing. The room was beyond my expectations super clean and had everything I wanted. The spa was amazing. The food was super delicious and creative. I loved how they creat ideas for the dinner and breakfast, which made the experience unforgettable. All the activities were amazing - despite the weather conditions - it was great to live the full experience in the island from being out with the local people to going on a solo boat trip to discover as much hidden beaches as i can.
It is truly a lost paradise. The island almost without tourist, full of nice locals, amazing nature and great views. It is a place to think and enjoy the life. We are not about swimming and beaches, but the rainforest was just stunning!
The island is nice but it is just another island on the same latitute as other nice remote islands in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand ... you name it. The length of the trip is very long particularly if you come from Europe: one needs to take a plane to Lisbon (+/- 2 hours), spend a few hours in transit in Lisbon (2h in my case), take a plane to Sao Tome - in my case, I flew with TAP - via Accra (Ghana 5 1/2 hours more), with a stopover of 45 min and another leg to Sao Tome, 2 more hours. Then as the plane arrives late afternoon, you need to overnight in Sao Tome and the following day take a plane early afternoon to Principe (45 minutes). In total, to reach Principe, I spent 32 hours.
The island is absolutely stunning. The people are friendly, the beaches are amazing, it feels safer than São Tomé, the roads are better and has a lot to see and explore even though is a small island. A must in São Tomé and Príncipe!
