I planned to complete the Mae Hong Son loop in 3 days and my stop for sleep was here. The staffs understood when I mentioned I will be checking in late than the actual time. Riverhouse Hotel is located on the banks of Yuam River. It offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and free private parking. I just love wooden houses and this one gave me the feeling being back home somewhere in a hut in the alps. Lovel made and very cosy. Lovely breakfast on the big terrace right next to the river. Perfect location as it is located next to good restaurants and little shops. Also not far from the Morning Market.

Mae Sariang is beautiful. Pwo Karen tribes make up about 50% of the town. It lays in a beautiful green valley surrounded by tall mountains and has 2 rivers run through it. Lovely views! Glad we stopped and visited friends. Great coffee shops too. Nice stop over if you are doing the Mae Hong Son loop. We started in Chiang Mai, then to Pai, Mae Hong Son and Mae Sariang and back up to Chiang Mai. We took 5 days and enjoyed all the viewpoints and highlights along the way. We ate dinner at the Coriander Restaurant and the the Salmon dinner was the best I have had. Salmon cooked to perfection!
Small town with a lot of good eats. We would have loved to stay 2 nights but we were just passing through.it was low key and now ridiculously touristy like Pai. We are at the Coriander resort restaurant. It was delicious and reasonable.
Chilled relax little riverside town. Nothing much here except for a few sleepy streets but that’s the attraction after the hippie over tourist fest of Pai. There’s plenty decent accommodation to chose from, places to eat and a couple of bars. Got a friendly vibe to the place easily accessible on beautiful country roads.
Cute little town with a lot of locals and a few tourists that are a bit lost. There is not much to do, but it is so good to get some rest when you are doing the Mae Hong Son loop by bike. There is a nightmarket on Sunday, but it is not that big. There are a lot of restaurants, but they seem to come and go, because we couldn't find a few we have seen on TripAdvisor or Maps.me. Sawadee is a good restaurant, although we had to wait a long time for food. But the view on the river and the atmosphere is very nice. Around this city you can enjoy the country side. Big fields with corn or other vegetables are grown here. We only stayed one full day and we went to the Salawin National Park. Nice walk, but not much to see. A lot of trees, leaves and trees. Not really view points. Overall it is a nice place to stay for one day (two nights).
I just stopped one night on my way back to Chiang Mai. Too short, one need to stay a full day to discover the National Park or take a boat tour. Guest houses have been recently build along the river. Best place to stay maybe but what about the authenticity of the place and the access of everyone to its banks?
The Riverside is a decent and clean hotel at good location. Of course, this is a no-frills hotel but it is still pleasant to stay there as traveler. The restaurant is really good, serving decent food and nice and fresh wine and beer.
The hotel is more like a guest house. Rooms very quaint and small but nicely decorated. Breakfast was the best on the whole trip. friendly staff and nice location on the river.
Friendly owners, good location, great for the price! Stopped here on our first night on the Mae Hong Son loop and they took good care of us!
