Our favourite stay yet in SE asia to this day. Loved everything about it, the staff were super friendly, room was spacious, clean and felt homely and really great location. Also super close to the happy dog restaurant which is one of our favourite local spots to eat.

There just isn't very much to do.

There just isn't very much to do. We needed a night stopover before going to the island and our hotel was nice. Had a tasty pad-thai from the one place that was open and a couple of beers from a very nice bar next to a May-Thai gym. The few streets around the river are lovely and you do get the sense that you're suddenly away from all the tourists and in real Thailand. It is also extremely hot so not particularly pleasant to walk around either. At 8pm everything was shut down, including the night market.

Make sure you stay in town.

Make sure you stay in town. There is no night life, but Trat has great food and a wonderful market. Getting around Trat is not easy, you will have to walk. There are moto taxis but not always where you need them.

Trat is a sleepy provincial town at the edge of the country...

Trat is a sleepy provincial town at the edge of the country bordering Cambodia. Bus is the primary way to get here from Bangkok so this disuades people who feel they must fly to enjoy their vacation on limited time. If going to one of the islands it is likely you will have to stay overnight to go to Cambodia or the islands. Good market, there are places to get good coffee. People are very friendly.

Laid back small town with plenty of interesting choices for...

Laid back small town with plenty of interesting choices for food. Very welcoming people, nice and smiling. There's perhaps not much to do in the evenings, but during daytime you can walk around discovering traditional Thai food and snacks at very affordable prices. On Saturday afternoon and evening there's a very popular and nice street market. The small lake or water reservoir features a great sunset view and a walkway all around the perimeter.

people who want to see Thailand without over tourism and look for friendly people and inclusion in the Thai daily life find here the perfect province town. Cultural harmony . For night live , party and bucket list people , they better skip Trat city.

Check your location. The road can be very difficult even for good, experienced drivers. Parts are very steep and narrow with sharp bends and you need to use first gear in places. No mention of this in the adverts and another time we would use local transport as they are used to the conditions and know the roads, especially dangerous when dark and always dark after 6pm so be aware! Very nice beaches and food and some areas have beach entertainment with a live fire show in the evenings. Plenty of activities, we enjoyed kayaking on the beach. There are viewpoints marked for excellent photos. Would like to stay longer next time.

The host was incredibly helpful with where we could find what we needed. The rooms we had were comfortable and good showers . This hotel is in a quiet part of town, and within 5 mins, walk in the heart of Trat Tu also gave good advice on where to eat in Trat, yum food, and helped to organise boat tickets and taxis driver to get us to Koh Kood.

As soon as we entered the hotel we felt welcomed. The room was very clean and had everything we need. Instant coffee, cream… Beds were hard which we like for sleeping without disturbing my husband. Very close to the 7/11, beach. Breakfast was at Siam from 8.30 onwards and what a huge and good breakfast.

The hotel is an ideal choice for an overnight stay on the way to nearby islands. The deluxe rooms (corner) are extremely spacious and comfortable, especially considering the prices of the nightly stay at this hotel.

Just beautiful!!! The mangrove forest and the lake the pools, delicious breakfast - we absolutely loved the Hotel and Trat. The staff and especially Mr. Chang were so so nice. They made sure we had a great stay.
