Prince Palace Hotel Bangkok - SHA Extra Plus, hotel in Bangkok

Located in Old Bangkok, Prince Palace Hotel is directly above Bo Bae Tower - a wholesale clothing market. Overlooking Mahanak Canal, the hotel offers an outdoor pool and 7 dining options.

The Prince Palace is a MASSIVE hotel comprised of (I think) 4 buildings. This was obviously a grand, glorious and elegant hotel when it was built. But, today, the room furnishings are old and out-dated, very much in need of replacement. However . . . (1) Everything works properly, (2) the rooms are clean and spacious, (3) the beds are good quality, (4) the bathrooms are well-lit, and (5) the hotel is well-located. And best of all, the hotel amenities are great – a large and up-to-date gym; two large swimming pools; a spa; and several restaurants. So, if you don’t mind “tired and worn” room furnishings that look they haven’t been replaced since the 1950s, then the Prince Palace is an excellent choice for the budget-minded traveller. It has everything you could ever need and you can’t beat their affordable rates! P.S. The Prince Palace has several levels with smoking rooms. (Whenever I request a smoking room, they send back a message saying, “they’ll try their best to accommodate my request,” but, when I arrive, they always have a smoking room for me).

FAQs about hotels in Bangkok

Something for Everyone in Bangkok

Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. From luxurious mega malls like MBK and Siam Discovery in Siam Square to the famous Khao San Road in the Banglamphu district, this hard working city is packed with commerce, fiery food and soothing temples.

Catch a boat up river on the Chao Phraya Express or discover different neighbourhoods on the blissfully air-conditioned BTS Skytrain. A taxi or exhilarating tuk-tuk ride is never far away from the big attractions, which include Chinatown, Jim Thompson House and the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak.

To step out of the frenetic energy of street food stalls, amulet markets and the sizzling temperatures, discover an oasis of calm in one of the many Buddhist temples. Be awed by the majesty of the Grand Palace and marvel at the world’s longest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. While you’re there why not relax even more with a traditional Thai massage?

From the sky-scraping luxury hotels with world famous rooftop bars to a cheap hostel bed in the centre of town, Booking.com will help you explore all Bangkok has to offer.

It’s all interesting… like travelling to another planet. Many people speak enough English to assist you and are happy to do so… even complete strangers. Google mapping makes getting around a breeze if you need it. It’s an assault on the senses but you can find tranquility if you desire it.

I spent three days in Bangkok on the way back home from Indonesia. It was my third visit but I still haven't seen everything I'm interested in. This time I visited amulet market, Grand Palace, Siam Museum, rooftop bar at SO hotel, Wat Paknam and Big Budha temple, Klong Bang Luang Floating Market, Arun Riverside rooftop restaurant, ICONSIAM mall and viewing terrace and Meridian Chaopraya river Cruise. Tip: I was able to hire a small boat trip from Wat Paknam to Bang Luang market only for 500 THB. Just ask passers-by.

The temperature was hot but expected with rain for a while mostly at night but it is the rainy season and anyway the rain clears and because of the heat the place dries up quickly. The location I stayed at was just adequate but cheap and I only got what I paid for. The people are so polite and helpful and always seem to be in good form and smiling a lot. Most of the street signs are in English as well as thai but if you loose your way there is almost always someone in a shop or even on the street who will gladly help you with directions in fair English. I love Bangkok. The ladies are so petite and beautiful

Great city. Hot and rainy in May/June. The buses are not easy to learn how to get on. The fastest way to get around is by train or bike. Traffic is mad. Overall, it is a great city with lots of food and things to do as a tourist.

a city with the blend of everything where you can get a taste of culture, tradition, & their nightlife and it doesn't break the bank. This city is backpackers friendly its one of those city where you can walk alone and nobody bothers you. Walked throughout the city alone past midnight and it felt safe. The staff is really friendly and welcoming, we also received a delicious typical welcoming drink once we arrived. They speak good english and were able to recommend us useful tips for our North Thailand discovery journey. Rooms were clean and brand new. They have a nice coffee shop at first floor nearby the reception, if you would like to sip a Thai style Iced coffee. There are many convenient stores and street restaurants around such as 7-11 shop. The hotel is located in tiny streets in Pratunam area for a real local taste of Bangkok.

The most convenient location to go to BKK, just few minutes walk to the airport link station through the linked walkway that also connects to BTS. The hotel is new, good size room, big glasses windows, strong WiFi, good water flow, plentiful buffet breakfast choices and welcoming staff of all levels. It has 2 swimming pool for quest to choose and in-house restaurants and bar. I was here for an Open House for the new LDS Temple in Krungthep (Bangkok). We were also having a reunion for anyone who was ever a Missionary here in Thailand. This location was a city block away from the reunion site and a block and a half away from the new Temple. Easy access to the Airport Link train and the subway station that connects to the fantastic public transit system in Krungthep. I chose this place for that reason, but the serviced apartment we were in had more than any Hotel we’ve ever stayed at in Krungthep

The location is good for exploring Bangkok, walking distance from Khao San Road but far enough away that it's not busy. The staff are very friendly (they don't speak much English but communication wasn't an issue). Hotel offers several services including laundry, airport shuttle and cafe. Felt safe and secure with key card activated door to the building and was good for price we paid. Rooms are all upstairs with no lift, not an issue for us but some might want to be aware of this.

Having now stayed at The Centre Point, Sukhumvit on a number of occasions, so much so that we now call it our home from home in Bangkok. We find the hotel to not only be convenient in all aspects of location etc. but also very fairly priced in comparison to other similar hotels. Exhalent sleeping arrangement for two adults and a three year old child. Without doubt we will be rebooking on our next trip to Bangkok.

Room was very nice and spacious. The floor was not carpeted which is great. Staff were very friendly. Aromatherapy massage was great and very relaxing. The hotel is very near Don Muang Airport and Bangkok Immigration Office.

If you spend extended time on your computer then you won't find a better hotel in Bangkok. Rooms have big nice desks and proper office chairs! I think it's worth it to spend a bit more and stay in the city view rooms.

I like to try new hotels every time I travel to Bangkok. But here I like The price is good value for money and kudos to the staff for their hospitality.
