FAQs about hotels in Bangkok

Something for Everyone in Bangkok

Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. From luxurious mega malls like MBK and Siam Discovery in Siam Square to the famous Khao San Road in the Banglamphu district, this hard working city is packed with commerce, fiery food and soothing temples.

Catch a boat up river on the Chao Phraya Express or discover different neighbourhoods on the blissfully air-conditioned BTS Skytrain. A taxi or exhilarating tuk-tuk ride is never far away from the big attractions, which include Chinatown, Jim Thompson House and the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak.

To step out of the frenetic energy of street food stalls, amulet markets and the sizzling temperatures, discover an oasis of calm in one of the many Buddhist temples. Be awed by the majesty of the Grand Palace and marvel at the world’s longest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. While you’re there why not relax even more with a traditional Thai massage?

From the sky-scraping luxury hotels with world famous rooftop bars to a cheap hostel bed in the centre of town, Booking.com will help you explore all Bangkok has to offer.

    The people are very friendly.

The people are very friendly. The BTS (train) is the best way to get around in Bangkok, this is due to heavy traffic. Local restaurants are really good. Try to avoid the local scouts who like to sell you stuff/tours etc. You can book your tours before you leave your country, the price is pretty much same. Try a cooking class, there are many places that offer classes.

We stayed in ok budget hotel.

We stayed in ok budget hotel. If you go Bangkok to spend all time outside you don't ned to spend too much on hotel. There are much better and more expensive hotels as well as some cheaper (not sure I would recommend). One we stayed in had advantage of being walking distance from the Grand Palace and some Wats, as well as the river for nice boat travel. Center is big and crazy. Definitely recommend going up King Power Mahanakhon observation deck (314m high). The best way of the whole city. Trains are great but freezing cold. Eat Thai bananas, they are much better than those we get in Europe. And, of course, all Thai food is fab.

Bangkok is an amazing city to visit.

Bangkok is an amazing city to visit. Yes the traffic is horrendous, but if you learn to take the easy Skytrain, subway, and ferry the city is easy to navigate. Also if you need to travel outside of the mass rapid system, the user of Grab (i.e Asia's version of Uber) will take you anywhere with worrying about language issues. As for food - the choices are unlimited and if you eat in the food courts in the major malls, you don't have to worry about cleanliness and still be able to explore Thailand's amazing cuisine. Bangkok also has an amazing list of Michelin-starred and recommended restaurants.

No other city in the world like it.

No other city in the world like it. For me it is the street vendors and the non tourist areas that make it different. Getting around the city can be difficult, even with the sky train and Metro. It is just crowded with people and cars, and the air quality is becoming a real problem

Bangkok amazing, colourful, crazy, beautiful - has no many different faces, areas and things to discover. Having been to BKK for about 7 times now over the past few years I still can not get enough of this extraordinary place. There is so much to see and discover, weather you check out the culture with all these beautiful temples and religious places, or the markets, floating markets, endless shopping malls, all the nights markets, street food, Chinatown, street art, Khlong tours, rooftop bars, fancy restaurants, nightly Tut-Tuk drives... you can have it all... Just go there and discover yourself!

    Bangkok is ALOT!

Bangkok is ALOT! Noisy, smelly, sometimes dirty, but also incredible. The temples are phenomenal, the people are friendly and street food is plentiful and affordable. Really recommend the sky bar, particularly if you go and sit in the bar and watch the sunset there rather then at the top which is manically crowded. Loved it.

Excellent location overall very central to most places that we visited. I have stayed in many hotels but the bed at this hotel was by far the comfiest I have ever had. Excellent stay. The pool area is a massive bonus for such a central location and the staff were excellent. Breakfast for the price is very good they had a different selection each day. A mixture of fruit, hot thai and western food and usual breakfast items. Excellent price and excellent facilities will definitely return when i Bangkok again.

We stayed in the Berkeley in London and expected probably same and more for the Bangkok Berkeley, as all our hotels were already very nice. But this is plain standard hotel without Thai touch in fact. But nice area, very spacious room, clean, but to common. Breakfast is amazing what they offer, but is so crowdy and noisy to eat. Friendly staff. Amazing beautiful pool. large pool, so you can actually swim. (pity that pool is closed in the late evening, like in many hotels in THailand.)

Incredibly beautiful, spacious and fresh rooms for a small price. A real gem within walking distance of the gigantic mall: Icon Siam. The free shuttle boat from Icon Siam to Asiatique is also a nice extra! We have stayed here the most pleasant of all our hotels in Bangkok, partly because of the friendly employees: Ariel and Alex. Two toppers who take the time to make sure you feel at home! The free coffee/tea every morning was also so nice!

Can't say enough things about our stay at the Aetas Lumpini hotel. The staff at the front desk was amazing. Extremely professional and very helpful. The room we stayed in was exceptional! It was very clean and comfortable. This was the perfect hotel to end our vacation in Thailand. We had drinks by the pool and it was a great way to unwind after a long day of walking around Bangkok. The location next to the market and river were really fun and enabled us to experience a part of Bangkok we had not seen before. The hotel was great in arranging transportation to the airport. We aware of how challenging it is to drive directly to the hotel due to the small roads. The river front terrace was very pleasant and breakfast was delicious. Overall this is a pretty nice hotel and we had no significant complaints.

This is an older hotel that has been well maintained, which I suppose allows them to charge a more value driven rate. The room was newly renovated an huge for the price. We were there for a whole month and loved it. The main pool is huge and has an awesome view of sunset and old Bamgkok. We have stayed in Bangkok many many times and know what is on offer elsewhere very well having stayed at many luxury and long stay hotels.
