The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions."

The location right on the cliffs and beach, every morning there is a chance to buy the catch of the day, before it gets to the market. The space was very spacious considering what it looks like at first glance. Lastly, the staff, from the host down to the on site property manager, made sure our stay was comfortable.

We loved our stay at Pongwe Beach Hotel! We were looking for somewhere to relax after climbing Kilimanjaro, and it certainly delivered. The staff was amazing, the grounds were beautiful, and we chose the room with the private plunge pool and it was so worth it. The restaurant was great and always offered Western and local options for each meal. There was a Swahili buffet on Friday evening, which was delicious. The breakfast was a combination of self-serve fruit, bread and yogurts, along with made-to-order options that varied slightly each day. The hotel also helped us arrange a snorkeling/hand-fishing trip one morning from the beach for $20 USD per person. So fun! Would definitely recommend for a private, relaxing vacation.

We had 3 meals breakfast, lunch and dinner...each dish was curated in a very special manner with lovely flavours and keeping intact the quality and presentation The quantity of the food was excellent as well. The cocktails were also good. The location of the property is amazing, its at the beach, has a pool, has caves, has donkeys to play with, camels, a gym. The property gives you much more than u expect. Thank you for a pleasant stay. Also, the staff is very humble, friendly. Special thanks to Hitesh, the chef from India, and Issa.

Please remember that Marumbi is a Village in a poor third...

Please remember that Marumbi is a Village in a poor third world country and therefore there is very little to do. A few local shops. A couple of local Restaurants (We loved Bustani), no bars and a hotel that doesn’t welcome outsiders. If you are looking for nightlife it’s probably not for you.
