The place was amazing. The views and the roof space with a grill are awesome. The personnel was super friendly and helpful, with a lot of recommendations on what to do and a space to leave the bags both the day of arrival and the day of leaving.

Everything was great. Breakfast was very good, and the view and surrounding environment, beautiful. Of special note, and quite outstanding was the service provided by staff to promptly transport us 1/2 mile or so up and down the steep hill, to the main part of town and back. They also picked us up at the ferry, and then going back met us at the ferry with all of our luggage later in the day after we checked out.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of downtown so it was super easy to get to off the ferry. It is above a few shops but we had no issues with noise. It is right next to all of the best restaurants (I highly recommend Lobster trap). The room is small but cozy -its not like you are there to spend time in the room anyway. Recently updated bathroom was nice. We were there to celebrate my wife's birthday and they had flowers waiting in the room. Super friendly staff- highly recommend.

The staff, from the reception team to the drivers and house keeping team were all amazing and incredibly kind and willing to help. The room was spacious and had a great view. I liked that there was a car frequently picking up and dropping guests in town or at the ferry terminal so mayde it easy to go up and down hill easily.

By the time you leave Avalon you feel like you've been on vacation. It's beautiful, clean, chill. You can't run yourself ragged trying to do too much because the vibe there is very relaxing, and there's no traffic, no stoplights. You're on an island! When you have to get around either on foot or by golfcart, you know it's going to be a different kind of vacation. You won't need a vacation from your vacation. We were blown away by the beauty of this quaint little beach...

We were blown away by the beauty of this quaint little beach town. We loved the fact that there aren't many cars on the island. That made for a very peaceful visit. The shops are so cute and the locals were so friendly and kind. We will definitely be back!!!

There is great history, nature, and culture to explore, as well as the usual touristy stops like shopping and eating. Beware that most restaurants offered bottled water for purchase as the only option for drinking water to diners. There is a grocery store within walking distance of pretty much all the hotels so that is a plus. Also, your options for transportation are walking, taxi, or renting a golf cart.

We lucked out with fabulous weather and a flat sea!

We lucked out with fabulous weather and a flat sea! The Atwater was a great location just far enough off the busy waterfront but very walk-able to the restaurants and stores. We loved Jacks for breakfast (try the Swedish pancakes!). Rented a golf cart and enjoyed the views around the south end of the Island. We took an ECO tour with Christian as our guide. He was beyond excellent... So erudite about the Island and a great personality.

Love the unique old school experience without corp barrage. Beautiful, relaxed and rejuvenating. Love it all! I miss the Garibaldi shuttle. Older folks don't QR regularly .are at the Lobster Trap twice. Lunch and breakfast. Better than expected!! Loved Antonios mamas day old spaghetti, and Jacks peach pie. Coney islands fish n chips were delicious and a hit. Lloyds made a perfect hot fudge sundae! Leo's drugs had little toys for the grandkids and necessary sun screen . Decanso had refreshing mohitos and view. The staff at the casino was amazing accommodating for a senior lady.

Did not know that cruise ships come every afternoon, so the influx of people is a bit crazy. Also, wish that the quality of food around town was better, no so fried and greasy. On the positive side, Catalina is beautiful and you can get away from town when you need to. We did enjoy our meals at NDMK fish house as well as BlueWater Grill. Beaches and waterfront could be a lot cleaner in general.

We liked the vibe of the hotel. It was not luxurious at all but we were not looking for it. Clean place - that was the main focus. Closeness to the race start for us was also the one of the most important factors. Some great places to eat were very close, like 50 steps away, including coffee and breakfast. Would stay there again.

Super friendly staff! I told them it was my bday and I received a present!! So kind of them. The room itself didn’t have a view but it was modern, clean and comfortable and directly across from the beach!! So best views as soon as you stepped out of the hotel!

I had a great night's sleep in a room filled with lovely natural light. The hotel's location is convenient, just around 400 meters from the ferry pier.
