A nice and clean place in a very good location close to many worth-seeing places. The room was big, clean and our request for additional blankets was fulfilled on the spot. The town itself has a historical history that encompasses the city in culture and rich heritage. The people are friendly and wonderful! The restaurant we went to was Rubia’s and the food was amazing! Finding places is a cinch, the streets are well maintained and the layout of the town has easily accessible in mind. We were there for the annual Four Corners Highland Festival and Games. What a relaxed and peaceful experience!
The Aztec ruins site was well worth the drive. They still have intact beams from some of the original roofs and many of the walls and rooms are in good shape. Going down into the reconstructed kiva was a treat. And it's only a 90 minute trip from there to Chaco.
Excellent local attraction (ancient ones stone village and wonderful, re-constructed Grand Kiva, used for ceremonies to this day). Guided tour worthwhile. Ours was conducted by George, who was born 6 or 7 centuries too late and in the wrong culture. He has a true appreciation for the culture and practices of the people whose culture he describes.
Wish we could've done more sights in town, just didn't have time, but we did find a great Chinese Restaurant called Wonderful House Chinese Restaurant in the town of Aztec, would highly recommend, we had been traveling for 6 weeks and this was one of the best chinese food we had,
Step Back Inn was wonderful. And the Aztec Restaurant was delicious. We spent one day in Durango and the second in Aztec checking out the tourist places. I hope we can get back again soon, to finish our adventures there!
Loved Aztec. We were there to visit family. Couldn't believe how the little town has grown. Went to school there, met and fell in love and got married there...a long time ago! Ate at Ruby's loved it. Great location to take day trips to eastern NM or Co. Danney and Paulette
