Energetic and complex, Baltimore belongs to the select group of historic cities along the east coast of the United States. Located between Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, it’s the birthplace of the National Anthem. It has a lively nightlife, picturesque neighbourhoods, and modern entertainment areas. Its large number of African American population had an important role during the days of the Civil Rights movements.
Founded in 1729, its strategic location in an arm of the Chesapeake Bay rapidly transformed it into an important trading port. The historical site of Fort McHenry is well known for its role during the War of 1812 with the British Empire.
The city has numerous neighbourhoods that still maintain a quaint atmosphere. Fells Point is famous for its 18th and 19th-century architecture, cobbled streets, typical pubs, and plenty of restaurants. Some of the best inns and hotels in Baltimore are located here, while a more local feeling and great accommodation can also be found in Federal Hill and Midtown.
The Inner Harbor is a lively area where tourists can find modern venues and live concerts. Most Baltimore hotels are located in the Harbor, while the business district has also a wide variety of accommodation.
Whether you arrive at Penn Railway Station or Baltimore-Washington International Airport, don’t miss the deals available on Booking.com!
I was only in for my Dad's funeral. However, I did eat breakfast at the Hard Yacht Cafe in Dundalk and it was amazing!! I had my car fixed at Precision Auto center on Belair Road , Perry Hall, They were fabulous! Ask for Corey
There was absolutely nothing to do in baltimore and people genuinly don't give a damn about it. There is nothing to do in baltimore for the tourists. Person in the visitor center was very rude and of course did not help us with anything. She did not recomend us anithing either. By the way, i was absolutely shocked how many homeless people and drug addicts you have in baltimore. And they were quite aggressive towards us and other people on the street. There were quite a few of them around the hotel area because of those christian charities in the area.
Very vibrant downtown and easy to get around. Inner harbor has many different options for dining and partying. Check out the power plant area in downtown. One entrance fee to a variety of clubs and you can take your drink outside. Security is outstanding. There was a guy causing some trouble and they were on it right away and made the guy leave.
People can say whatever they want about Baltimore, it's a thriving vibrant City full of things to do. There's something for everyone here, from history to sports to science to music. The light rail makes it easy to get around Plus there's great availability for Uber and taxis, even a water taxi to take you across the harbor. My favorite place to eat is the r&r taqueria, a small authentic feeling place with great food and fast service. If you're looking for something a little more special to try McCormick & Schmits at pier 5. For a low-key but delicious steak dinner go to the Lord Baltimore tavern. Catch the Orioles on a home stand, or check out concerts at the arena or Pier 6. Theaters your thing the Hippodrome and the lyric are for you. Get lost in the stacks at Enoch Pratt library. Take the kids to the national aquarium and the science center. I love the Baltimore museum of art, have lunch at Gertrude's while you're there. If you're a history buff you'll enjoy the B&o railroad museum. On Saturdays you can visit the bromo Seltzer Tower and climb to the clock. Visit poes grave, the whole graveyard is interesting. If you get bored in Baltimore it's because you're boring.
I like the professionalism of the front desk and the help she demonstrated in such a timely manner. Surprised to learn there was no ice machine on the floor. Housekeeping only had one wash cloth among the other towels displayed. Not enough trash cans in the room. Could at least add one more.
Purpose of visit was for a wedding. Find the city difficult to travel as construction of roads are uniquely different . The road u are traveling on may fork to go around a monument just to merge back on the other side. Have to take care to look at above hanging signs, as your lane could be a turn lane. Definitely have to do your homework of the area where u are staying
