We went to Beaufort to attend the Marine Corp graduation at Parris Island. The location couldn't have been more perfect for the occasion, due to close proximity. Walking into the location you could see and smell the cleanliness. There was enough room for guests to lounge and socialize comfortably, with a pool table available for enjoyment. The room was very spacious, modern, quiet, and comfortable. We actually thanked the staff for such a great experience before departure, especially as guests at Tru Hotel for the first time. I hope all locations live up to this standard.

Like most coastal towns Beaufort has grown fast.
Like most coastal towns Beaufort has grown fast.
With one main road in and out Beaufort traffic can be heavy. We experienced gridlock on one occasion and learned not to be on the road during peak times. There was still parking downtime in city lots but getting harder to move around.
Beaufort is still a nice place just would like to go back maybe 10 or so years. May look for a smaller place to vacation later in the year with less traffic and fewer folks..
Still a couple of local places like Shrimp Shack but losing most Mom and Pop shops which loses a lot of local charm. Getting to look more like other towns with clearing land and loss of trees. Losing Oaks for Walmart is not OK.

Very cute town seemingly full of tourists.
Very cute town seemingly full of tourists. The waterfront park is a highlight, my child loved the park and we had a great lunch at Luther's. We felt very safe and there are public restrooms by the park which is always a plus! I didn't travel to the beach, so I'm not sure how far it is.

Beaufort itself is great.
Beaufort itself is great. It's a small town but getting more and more crowded every day. So, if you want to go, go now. Don't wait too many years. In the city itself, there's not much room for expansion.

It's grown from the sleepy little town it was when I was stationed there late 70s early 80s. Still nice place to visit and the people are down to earth good people. Loved Port Royal & wetlands, downtown Beaufort busy, car congestion, but nice views from the water's edge.

A quiet little town like most cities USA.
A quiet little town like most cities USA. Surrounded by water, lakes rivers, and ocean so there are more than a few bridges to cross. A decent number of hotels, and restaurants to serve all of those who visit this city while attending a week of Marine Recruit Graduation.
At least 20,000 Marine Recruits attend the training there at Parris Island so approximately 2000 family members attend graduation three times monthly so the city of Port Royal, and Beaufort should obtain grants to cater to all walks of life Americans who come to shelter, lodge, eat, shop, and fill up with gas, as often as this for our Military population.
This adds up to approximately 40,000 family members of 20,000 Marine Recruits who visit as a result of ONE REASON, MCRD PARRIS ISLAND, SC!! Quite The Economic Powerhouse I Would Say!!
Space in the room was great! The beds wre big and comfortable. The door separating bedroom was the best snd i wish all hotels had this. The bath in middle of the rooms was the best. The Marine graduates wall was a nice touch. Thank you for your patronage. Close to fast food and stores. Outdoor furniture was a real nice touch.
We were in a cottage rather than the old building. Absolutely beautiful room and facilities, lovely private balcony with rocking chairs. Outside communal areas with fire pits and sofas. Location perfect and breakfast vouchers for a fantastic diner across the road. Would love to return.
Could not eat breakfast in peace because a leak was happening in that area from the roof. The pool and hot tub were closed and the bar was closed. I want a refund! It was a waste of money . It was a cost for breakfast
Beautiful little cottage with lovely interior design, soft colors and welcoming vibe. Everything was thought off, very clean, the location is amazing, the yard was fenced, and everything was very pet friendly.
