Located in Bethel and within 1 mi of Sunday River Ski Resort, River View Resort has barbecue facilities, nonsmoking rooms, and free WiFi. A hot tub is available for guests. The premises were very clean. Daily housekeeping was exceptional -- they washed all of our dishes, silverware and glasses. The whirlpool by the pool was out order throughout the whole weekend. I hope that they fix it for next time.

Bethel is a cute little town that seems to have plenty of goods and services available if you are traveling. Unfortunately, I arrived late on a Sunday afternoon and left on Monday, so many restaurants were closed already.
Attempted to check in and the office was close. Had to go to another motel. Contacted the owner after I returned home and was tolf she would refund my fee. She did not. Contacted her again a week later and she told me she had thought about it and would only refund half my cost. I agreed but she did not refund that either. I do not recommend this motel to anyone.
Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant in the hotel. The room is spacious, clean, well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom is large, clean, modern and is well lit, which is a rarity in hotel rooms. We also appreciate the heat in the bathroom - cold bathrooms are so awful. Bonus - Keurig coffee maker in the room!
Quiet, beautiful, delightful tho limited shopping and warm attitude by everyone. Excellent restaurants and ambience. One of the most beautiful small towns in Maine has something for everyone - except handy coffee-on-the-go! Exquisite 100 yr old hotel, golf course surrounded by lovely hills & mountains. Closes up early!
We stayed at the Jolly Drayman in Bethel to ski Sunday River. The inn was a five minute drive to the main lodge and right around the corner from the mountain access road. Most nights we ate at the Jolly Drayman. This was not our plan, but the food was affordable, the menu diverse, and the quality outstanding. Based on our experience, we would definitely return to Bethel. It was an easy town to navigate and offered plenty of winter entertainment.
Stayed in Bethel just one night, there to ski at Sunday River and meet up with old friends from school. Did not spend much time in Bethel, but did go for a run in the morning up a hill out of town onto a gorgeous ridge looking out both directions at the mountains. The town is small but charming.
