Love the small town feeling.
Love the small town feeling. We usually stay here on the way to other destinations in the Sierras. We always stop at Schatts Bakery and also Hings donuts next to Starbucks. They have the worlds best apple fritters!

Bishop has a lot of choices in restaurants and shops.
Bishop has a lot of choices in restaurants and shops. I was impressed there is a sushi restaurant. A lot of the other towns we stopped in (on the Sierra bus that runs from Reno to Lancaster) had very limited options. Bishop has streams running through, is much greener, and hiker friendly! Has a nice vibe.

small town known for fishing. trout fishing at lakes / rivers, camping all the outdoor activities you may want if you know where to go what to do. it is seasonal for visiting, monitor local activities for motel or camping maybe full. overall have a good time and discover. some great Mexican restaurants in town and bishop has all your needs for visiting.

I travelled to Bishop for my son's wedding.
I travelled to Bishop for my son's wedding. It was wonderful! Mountain Rambler Brewery was good, Great Basin Bakery was excellent, Blue Heron Farm was beautiful, Rock Creek Lake was gorgeous, Millpond Recreation Area was serene. All in all a lovely trip.

We were just going through to another destination.
We were just going through to another destination. Bishop is a great town. Some fabulous restaurants and thinks to do. Some of the hotels have gone down in quality, but we will keep checking others as it is a stopping point for us on our way through.

Great dining options for a small town.
Great dining options for a small town. We and the two friends traveling with us had a great dinner at Whiskey Creek, a short walk from the hotel. And good breakfast at Jack's the second day of our stay. If we'd been there another night, we would have tried the Japanese restaurant right next door to the hotel.

Classic motel, well refurbished, with an old-time ambiance that I liked. The grass patio in the back is perfect for a beer in the evening. The room is small-ish, but has everything you need (no kitchenette), and in Bishop you should not spend time in the room anyway. Key thing: windows on THREE sides (two sides for other rooms). Essential to survive the night without the air conditioning on. The air conditioner is anyway newer than the large, noisy ones that you get in usual motels.

Used this place as a layover between Yosemite and Death Valley. Arrived late and checked in. made use of the onsite laundry (extra charge but cheap - need quarters) and grabbed some food from Taco Bell over the road. Pool looked good and open late. Beds really comfy...Aircon as usual in these places, quite noisy, but slept well.
