In Blowing Rock, North Carolina, this pet-friendly inn features a picnic area and provides free beverages in the lobby including tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The decor in the room was perfect for a little mountain town. The size of the room was also more than adequate with a rocking chair hair to relax and a desk to do work if necessary. With a microwave and refrigerator and small coffee machine, you really couldn’t ask for more. Deep tub for soaking and they orovoded bubble bath as well as some excellent shampoo and soap products. We needed some rest! We operate an insurance agency and have not taken a vacation for 3 years. We loved that we could walk on the property and feel safe. The property was decorated as you would expect nature to be.
Love the area! Early in April not everything is up and running yet so check restaurants personally before trusting 3rd party sites such as google maps or yelp!!! Weather can change pretty quickly so be prepared!! Hiking and exploring is a must!! Breweries, restaurants, shopping, beautiful mountain views, pretty much everything you need except maybe the beach.
Downtown is awesome to take your significant other arm and arm and walk up and down the place and feel warm doing it. The Six Pence Pub would be my go to place if I were to live there. Travelers will also enjoy the unique look of the Mellow Mushroom there. I do wish I had time to try everything there to let you know about whats good. That was only Downtown, there are sites to go to and take in the mountains and enjoy. I urge everyone to go and have a fun time there.
I really enjoyed the area very much. It is really close to Boone and if you love nature, it is amazing. The weather could have been better, but thats the mountains for ya. There was A LOT of fog, which made it kind of scary to drive on winding mountain roads when you are not familiar with them to begin with. On the clear days, it was amazing. The mountain skyline is just BEAUTIFUL! The area is great for skiing or snowboarding and lots of places to visit for family acitivities. The come back shack in Boone was really good, and Mystery hill was a lot of fun! If you are going to be visitng during inclement weather, be prepared for it, by bringing with you the right things. Also, if you're not familiar witht he area, use google maps or some other sort of map, that will help out a lot. The twigs restaurant is spectacular, we went there thinking it was going to be like apple bees or ruby tuesdays and it was actually a fine dining place that knocked our socks off. 5 star restaurant for sure. although we didn't go, the tanger outlets were not that far from the hotel we were staying at. All in all the trip was a great trip and I look forward to going that way again.
Great restaurants...love the city....shopping is GREAT!!! We will definitely come back again......and had a great time talking to the store employee's. Come early and park your car or truck....you can walk around to almost everything!! Even in the rain and sleet....we had a very nice 61st Birthday celebration.....we also stayed at Chetola Lodge....beautiful property and Suites! Go check it out....my husband spoiled me!
Many shops were closed or had inconsistent hours and days that they were closed. An off-season condition, however, great prices were available in shops that were open as well as great rates on lodging. Fun shopping at the close-by Tanger Outlet stores. Love the quaint little town in the mountains and great food from places like the Bistro Roca!

I'm a frequent visitor to Blowing Rock, but this was my first stay at the Village Inn. The sleeping area was good-size and the bed very comfortable. A small sitting room off the sleeping area held the usual minifridge and microwave, but the pod coffeemaker was a nice touch. The claw-foot tub in the bathroom required a wraparound shower curtain for a shower but presented no real problem. I wish I had time to enjoy the deck outside the slider. A short but steep walk up the hill takes you to the heart of town and several restaurants.

Motel was right in the middle of town. The room was cosy, clean and comfortable. Caroline was a great host, very friendly and let us know what facilities were close by. Blowing Rock is a great town and very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, so was a great stop over for us. We were given a small discount at a couple of local places for breakfast, and the one we chose was good.
