    Getting around Boone is fine.

Getting around Boone is fine. Sometimes Rt 105 can be congested. We ate at The Red Onion and Wendys. We love the shops and park at Blowing Rock. Boone is a very nice town. Having the college there gives an extra bit of fun and energy to the town.

Boone is the quintessential mountain town especially in the summer. Its full of festivals and fun. (Do check out their awesome farmers market on Saturdays and Boonerang every June) The rest of the year it becomes a thriving college town, with plenty to do. If you love the mountains, check out Boone. There is variety in places to stay, eat, and play no matter what you are wanting.

    Wonderful time.

Wonderful time. Beautiful scenery and great local resturants. Make sure to take time and walk around downtown Boone. Visit the campus of Appalachian State University. Take a short drive to Shops on the Parkway in Blowing Rock. Make sure to have lunch or dinner at Pepper's in Boone. You won't be disappointed.

We were there to see the school. It was great. Surrounding area nice, interesting non-chain options for dining, which we appreciated. Weird that a main street runs right through the middle of campus, but enjoyed and would like to go back to Boone. It snowed on 5 April!

We've been to this area a couple of times over the years, and tend to go back as we really like the area. It is close to an entrance for the Blue Ridge Parkway, with an overlook just a few minutes down the road. The restaurants are good, but Dan'l Boone Inn is an absolute must every time we are in the area. There are plenty of small hiking trails, and waterfalls, to see.

I was traveled for skiing and the hotel location was right. My room was on the first floor, quiet, nothing bothered me. I liked waffles for breakfast, coffee and some tea in the room.
